Which Honda CRV model years should I avoid buying?

Which Honda CRV model years should I avoid buying?

so, I had this buddy who bought a 2017 CR-V, thinking he was getting a steal. But man, he was always in the shop. Turns out, those years had some real issues with the transmission, like it couldn’t decide if it wanted to shift or just sit there.

And then there’s the 2015 model. I remember test driving one and the infotainment system was a total nightmare. I felt like I was trying to hack into a spaceship just to change the radio.

Have you guys had any luck with the 2019 models? I hear they’re better, but who knows. Just be careful out there, cause not all CR-Vs are created equal. If you do buy one, make sure you check the history, or you might end up like my buddy, who now thinks “CR-V” stands for “Constant Repairs, Very Frustrating.”

I ve heard the 2007 model has some serious issues. My buddy in Ontario got stuck with repair bills that made him cringe.

Definitely steer clear of those years. Just a heads up, you know?

I ve heard the 2007 CRV has a lot of issues with oil consumption in my friend’s car it was like a motor oil fountain

the 2010 model wasn’t too great either lots of complaints online about weird brake problems guys should steer clear of those

I’m in Canada and I’ve had a 2014 CRV. it was decent at first but then the engine issues started creeping up. I heard 2015 models ain’t great either. If you can avoid those years you might save yourself some headaches later. Just my two cents.

Man I had a 2010 CRV and it was a total headache overheated constantly in summer while driving through Indiana.

I’ve heard the 2015 model had transmission issues too so better to stay clear of those years I guess. Just my two cents.

I had a friend who bought a 2017 CR-V and ended up regretting it so much in Toronto. Engine problems and tech glitches all the time. Not worth the hassle.

I ve heard 2015 models have some issues too which is a bummer because I love the look of them.

I ve heard so many mixed things about the 2007 and 2011 models. My buddy in Toronto had a nightmare with his 2011 CR-V it kept throwing engine lights and the dealer was no help.

But the 2014 model seems solid not too many complaints. Gotta stay away from the ones with iffy transmissions though I can’t even imagine the headache.

I ve heard some bad things about the 2017 model in my town. Friend had issues with the transmission.

However I ve seen the 2015 model holding up well around here. It is like a dependable old friend. Just avoid the 2016 if possible.

I had a friend with a 2016 CRV and he was always complaining about the transmission

avoid those years if you can like the plague

I’ve heard a lot of chatter about the 2015 and 2016 models not being the best choices. My buddy in Chicago had some real headaches with his 2015 CRV and I’ve gotta say it made me think twice. The constant problems with the infotainment system were just the tip of the iceberg for him.

That being said I have a 2018 and it’s been pretty reliable so maybe stick to the newer ones if you’re looking.

I had a 2017 CRV and it was a nightmare I swear. Constant issues with electronics and the fuel efficiency wasn’t as great as they claim.

In my buddy’s case he found a 2015 model but it was like driving a brick. Better luck sticking to the later models if you ask me.

I ve heard bad things about the 2015 model year can have serious transmission issues and the rust issue was wild in my buddy’s 2016 here in Chicago

personally I think the 2019 has some nice features but then I found out they had a recall for the fuel pump like why would I risk that

Had a friend with a 2017 CRV and it was just a headache always in the shop for transmission problems. People down here in Florida raved about them but that year just seemed off.

I’ve also heard bad things about the 2008 model. Seems like the engine had issues too. Better to look elsewhere.

There’s a lot of buzz around the 2015 to 2016 models. I ve heard those had some real issues with transmission and electronics. I think I’d skip those if I were looking to buy.

My buddy in Toronto had a nightmare with his 2015 CRV. It was in the shop more than on the road. Just a heads up for anyone considering those years.

I had a friend who bought a 2017 CRV and it was a nightmare in the first year too many problems showing up.

I ve heard some good things about the newer models but stick to 2015 and earlier if you ask me.

back in 2017 I bought a 2015 CRV and man it had so many electrical issues no thanks I ve heard the 2007 and 2010s are also questionable

i remember considering a 2010 CRV up in Toronto but that thing had so many engine issues. Didn’t feel like rolling the dice on it.

I ve heard the 2012 model is a winner but some 2015s can be hit or miss with transmission problems.

Always check that maintenance history though

I avoided the 2007 model after hearing about transmission issues from friends in Chicago. Such a bummer too because I love CRVs.

I’ve heard good things about the newer ones though. It’s kinda a hit or miss game honestly.

I ve heard the 2017 model had tons of issues in the transmission. My buddy in Toronto learned that the hard way. So be careful.

Also I have seen the 2015 ones rust a lot. Not cool for a Honda honestly. Good luck out there.

I got a 2017 CRV thinking it was a safe bet turns out I ve had tons of issues with the brakes and electronics its been a nightmare I m in California and the heat just adds to the mess.

Heard that the 2015 models are pretty rough too not just mine I’ve seen some friends have the same complaints. Feels like some years just got really bad luck with reliability.
