so i got a 2005 honda acura tsx from a buddy and wanted to share some common issues ive seen. a lot of people talk about the electrical gremlins. sometimes the dashboard lights flicker and i had to replace a couple of bulbs in the instrument cluster. anyone else had their power windows stop working? it was super annoying. also had a fuel pump issue. stalls out in the middle of nowhere, not fun at all .
an another thing, the brakes can be a bit iffy. had to replace the pads and rotors after a bit. suspension noises are a pain too. it’s like a rattly rumble. makes the ride bumpy.
and what about the AC? mine was acting up and i had to get it recharged. have any of you ran into these issues? or got any tricks up your sleeve to fix them?
I’ve owned a 2005 Honda Acura TSX up north in Canada, and timing belt issues can be real troublemakers, needing swaps every 105k miles to avoid engine headaches. Plus, electrical gremlins haunt the infotainment and suspension stuff can sag, making it feel older than it is. But it’s still a sweet ride with STYLE, man. Had mine sweet-tuned with regular TLC, so all good so far!
Growing up in Canada, I’ve seen a thing or two about my family’s 2005 Honda Acura TSX. The transmission is a real pain, always giving up the ghost. And don’t even get me started on the annoying idle hunting issue—super aggravatin’! I’ve also had some headaches with the electrical system acting up. But, when it runs smooth, it’s got a great ride. Just keep it serviced, and you’ll dodge most mishaps. Trust me, I’ve been there!
I’ve had a 2005 Acura TSX up in Canada, man, and the timing belt’s a beast – busted mid-drive! Also, the Lotus tuned suspension can feel like a rollercoaster. Oh, and don’t even get me started on those obnoxiously temperamental cylinders. But, looks like a boss, right?
(No emojis though, just saying!)
I’ve had my fair share of headaches with this 2005 Honda Acura TSX in Toronto. The AC unit fries often, and the engine light pops up like unwanted text messages! Someone else mentioned steering problems too, and yeah, my steering’s been quirky. But power steering itself’s a bonus; otherwise, this ride’s got charm! Solid car though if ya don’t mind the quirks.
I’ve got this 2005 Acura TSX in Seattle, and trust me, the timing belt ‘pop’ was a wake-up call—turned out to be a costly fix. People in my area keep saying the throttle body and CV joints are also troublemakers. But honestly, the ride’s smooth—just gotta watch out for those sneaky issues before they hit you hard!
I’ve got this '05 Acura TSX in Miami, and I’ve been dealing with the AC coil freezing up, plus the brakes can be super finicky. I’ve heard it’s an ABS actuator thing a lot, and the battery drains like crazy if you park too long. Kinda annoying but still love the rides!
Had a TSX back in '08 here in Texas. Battery issues, man — replaced it more than once. Also, the clutch felt a bit wonk at around 100k miles. I’ve heard electric window problems too, like mine sometimes Ghosted me there too. Anyway, worth the ride for the power, just keep a wrench handy.
I’ve owned a 2005 Acura TSX in Chicago for a few years now, and I’ve run into a few common issues. First off, the CV axle seems finicky – mine snapped after 60k miles. The electronics can be a huge PIA too, with fickle computer glitches. Also got that R&P issue almost covered it! Overall still a solid ride tho, just gotta eye these bits closely. Anyone else same problems?
I’ve had a few issues with my 2005 TSX in Canada. The transmission sometimes acts up—feels like it doesn’t shift smooth all the time, gets me worried on snowy roads. Also, the check engine light pops up too often, like it’s just relaxin’ its day. Made a habit of jokin’ with the mechanic, calling it “finicky lady.” But other than that, she drives well, just need to keep an eye on her quirks!
I’ve had a '05 Honda Acura TSX here in the States and man, the electrical system is a pain. Battery woes and some dodgy connectors were a nightmare. Also, the transmission acts up sometimes, especially the shifter linkage — keeps falling off. And don’t get me started on the oil leaks. Tell me it’s not just my ride… feels like a common story, anyone else?
I’ve owned a 2005 Honda Acura TSX up here in Vancouver, and it’s been a mixed bag. The V6’s great, but the automatic transmission can be finicky. Had my share of electrical gremlins too—the dashboard’s like a Christmas light show sometimes. Not the worst car, but definitely needs TLC now and then. And don’t get me started on the CVT issues when mine had one!
