okay so i’ve had my 2014 ford escape for a while now and i’ve noticed a few things that might help u guys. first, i had a problem with the automatic transmission slipping sometimes, like it would just refuse to shift gears smoothly. it was kinda weird and happened a few times when i was driving around the city. had to take it to the shop and they said something about needing a fluid change or an update for the software. also, some people have mentioned that the transmission control module might act up sometimes. it’s not a major issue but kinda annoying. anyone else experience this?
and there’s the clutch pedal - it felt really mushy to me. had it checked and they mentioned it might be low on hydraulic fluid or something. but why would it do that?
one more thing, some folks said their ESCape had trouble with being in park sometimes; it’d not click into place right or take a while to do so. anyone figured out a fix for that? i’m just curious if these are normal or if i need to worry. if you’ve dealt with similar stuff, feel free to share!
I’ve got a buddy in Toronto who drives a 2014 Ford Escape and he was dealing with some major transmission issues. The car would jerk and start to shift weird while driving on the highway. Another friend from Chicago mentioned similar jerking and weird delays in shifting. Everyone’s fix came down to the update software or a costly repair. Sounds like a few of these models had no matter how careful you are some lurking gremlins in the transmission department.
I’ve got a 2014 Ford Escape and driving in Toronto, problems like shifting delays and strange noises were so common. Met tons of folks with the same issue. Some say it’s a recall or just reality of owning an Escape. Nightmares at stop lights, ya know.
I’ve always enjoyed taking my 2014 Ford Escape on cross-country trips, but living in Minnesota, I’ve faced some quirks. Heard a lot about tranny issues, like rough shifting. I’ve got friends who ended up paying big bucks for repairs. You should never switch lanes or accelerate hard. Sounds like Ford’s timing chains are just unpredictable sometimes, right? Always good to stay ahead on those checks!
I’ve got an '14 Ford Escape in Ohio, and man, it’s been a handful with transmission issues. Figures hit hard after 60k miles—jerks the console, sudden slips into reverse. Had to fork out a chunk for a code reading but turned out it was the solenoid. Anyone else in the US hearing similar stories? I bet they ain’t just glitches.
I’ve got a 2014 Ford Escape from Boston and had real trouble last winter when the automatic shift light started freaking out and wouldn’t stay in gear. Heard others say the clutch can suck too—they clutch longer, keep going. Awkward but typical, I guess.
I’ve got a buddy in Toronto with a ‘14 Ford Escape, and he keeps dealing with the transmission acting up—like, it jerks when he shifts gears. It’s super frustrating. Heard folks in the States are havin’ the same drama, thinkin’ it’s a known issue? Just my two cents. Surely, sitting in traffic without a transmission ain’t fun!
I’ve owned a 2014 Ford Escape in Texas and ran into some gnarly transmission issues. The gear shifts felt rough, then it started slipping entirely. A buddy mentioned it’s a common prob with these models. Super frustrating, had to replace the whole thing. If you’re as unlucky, grab those Ford warranty cards! Been there, done that, not a fun ride. Hope yours stays smooth!
I’ve had a few issues with my ‘14 Ford Escape up here in Toronto. The 6-speed auto can be finicky, especially in cold weather; shifting feels sluggish sometimes. Heard others talkin’ bout weird grinding noises if you shift too fast. I’ve replaced the solenoid more than once, and it’s kind of a pain. Just curious if anyone else got the same problem or found a solid fix. It’s a ride, but the transmission bugs me a bit.
I’ve seen a few 2014 Ford Escapes out here in Canada with transmission probs. Shift delays and odd noises are super common, and it’s a real headache when poppin’ in and out of drive at traffic lights. Wish I hadn’t ignored those early signs!
I’ve had some trouble with my '14 Escape here in Toronto. A buddy’s got one in LA complaining of the shifter cable going wonky when it gets cold, so he can slip between gears or lock up in park. The shifter cable’s a common whinge among Escape owners. People often mention gremlin-like slipping in lower gears. I’ve patched mine up once, but it’s a bit like playing roulette, ya know? A real pain ain’t it?
I’ve got a '14 Ford Escape in Texas and man, the transmission’s been a pain! It hesitates a bit then catches or slips when I’m merging. Seen it at the shop fixin’ the sensor a couple times now. Keeps drivers on their toes, I tell ya!
I’ve had similar issues with my '14 Escape in Ontario. Around town, the car’s awesome, but long drives cause the transmission to throw tantrums. Like, it hesitates when shifting gears on highway, especially uphill. Took it to the shop, they replaced some fluid, but had to come back later. Still, the car drives fine most times, just weird lags. Others had same probs, it’s a common hitch!
I’ve got a buddy in Michigan who dealt with a 2014 Ford Escape and the tranny acted up. He said, it felt like it ghost-hopped gears or just stalled. Not fun at all! Anybody else had the same kind of drama? He had it fixed, but man, was it a headache. Show me your car troubles!
I’ve noticed loads of folks around Vancouver dealing with sh*tty transmission issues in their 2014 Ford Escape. The gearshift gets all jumpy, or it seems to just not want to shift. I’ve had mine hesitating, and it sounds like a rattletrap slide show. Guess it ain’t just mine though. The repairs are hitting the wallet hard. Hopefully, ours are just bad luck!
In Detroit, I’ve heard some 2014 Ford Escapes struggle with jerky shifts and strange noises, especially during highway drives. My buddy’s had it fixed a couple times, and now he’s worried about the transmission warranty. It’s a real headache!
I’ve got a 2014 Ford Escape in Portland, and man, the transmission can be a real headache. Mine started acting up around 80k miles—shifting felt all wonky. Heard a lot of folks here in Oregon deal with similar issues. One friend replaced his transmission at 110k, but mine’s barely over 100 now. Wishin’ Ford would step up their game! Anyone else stuck dealin’ with this?
I’ve got a 2014 Ford Escape up in Detroit, and man, the transmission issues are a headache! Just last month, it started slipping gears like crazy—every time I shifted, there was that awkwrd shudder. Heard from a few buddies in Ontario too, their Escapes are acting up the same way. Seems like it’s a common trouble spot. Really makes you wish Fords had better first-hand reliability back then!
In Texas, I’ve noticed a few 2014 Ford Escape owners with rough transmission shifts. Friends around here say it’s a bit of a headache, with some complaining about slipping gears and odd noises. Rabbit holes of DIY fixes are common too. Hasn’t been completely reliable, but mechanics often mention software updates could help. Definitely a buggy issue, but repairs aren’t as bad as they used to be. Still drives cant help but worry.
I’ve got a 2014 Ford Escape in Buffalo, NY. Transmission acts up, hesitates when shifting gears. Nearly got stranded once – couldn’t shift into drive! Heard others in Texas and Ontario say similar. Always weird driving with that, but yeah, car’s still mine!
