What are common Mazda CX-5 2014 problems reported by owners?

hey, so i’ve been hearing about some issues with the mazda cx-5 2014 from other owners. like, the transmission seems finicky sometimes. my buddy had his shifted hard outta nowhere. also heard about problems with the rl rear lift gate not closing right. does anyone else hear weird noises from their engine bay? mine makes like a rattling sound sometimes. also, does anyone know if the cruise control is reliable? noticed mine acting up. what about interior issues? my shift knob felt loose for a while. i think they had some recalls too, but can’t remember if mine was affected. anyway, how’s your cx-5 holding up? let me know if you’ve run into anything similar

I’ve got a buddy in Toronto who said his 2014 Mazda CX-5 started making weird noises around 60k miles. He said the serpentine belt and AC compressor were the main culprits. Seen some kind of rust issues too, mainly the undercarriage. But still a solid ride overall!

I’ve had some issues with my 2014 Mazda CX-5 in Canada, mainly with the transmission going wonky. Heard it’s a common gripe over here—anyone else dealing with this or other surprises? Would love to hear!

I’ve got an old Mazda CX-5 '14 and had some head scratching with the AC, dead as a doornail till I fix it up. My buddy in Canada says his spat with the clutch actuators keeps him busy. Guess folks in Texas find it juicy to bitch about their tail lights going out too. Love the ride, but seems like gremlins are everywhere!

I’ve owned a 2014 Mazda CX-5 since 2017, living in Oregon. Almost every time I hit a pothole, it seems like the CV joints start complaining with a whining noise. Friends in Ontario mention their engines throwing fits, specifically with oil leaks, which bugs me. I’ve heard about transmission issues too, but hopefully, it stays that way. But still, gas mileage is solid—definitely a mixed bag with this ride. :grimacing:

In Dallas, TX, I’ve heard a lot about the CX-5’s rough transmission issues, especially around 75k miles. My buddy’s car started jerking uncontrollably, took a while to fix. Another co-worker mentioned their airbag light bug; diagnostic tools got confused. Even mine had some engine noise that stumped mechanics for days. Overall, not perfect, but not bad for its class. Still, a solid SUV, especially if maintained well.

I’ve owned a '14 Mazda CX-5 in Texas and boy, the engine light drama! My pals all say the power windows are finicky too. Ha, typical! But when it runs smooth, it’s a dream car. Still, keeping up with those repairs can burn a hole in your wallet!

I’ve got a 2014 Mazda CX-5 up in Canada, and it’s mostly solid. Own a buddy who had the A/C duel problems; it’s a handshake of headaches. Dealer visits can be a pain, but the ride itself still sings like a dream car. Last year, the transmission lumpy-grindy act caught me off guard. Guess it’s a common chatter among the 2014 crowd! Every car’s got its quirks, how ’bout your ride?

I have a 2014 Mazda CX-5 here in Canada, and I’ve noticed the infotainment system glitching a lot. Some peeps say the transmission feels off after hitting 50k miles, which is bugging me too. Had to get the ABS sensor fixed around the same time—soo annoying!

I’ve had my 2014 Mazda CX-5 in the US and the engine light comes on like a second. Apparently, it’s a wild ride with some transmission issues too. Big headache, to say the least! My buddy in Canada said the brakes give him grief too. It’s all crazy!

The CX-5’s been rockin’ for me here in Cali, but some buddies’ '14s have had transmission hiccups. Noticed some rattlin’ too at low speeds, especially with those snow tires on. Battery drain’s a common moan too, especially if you leave lights on by accident. Nothin’ a mechanic can’t fix, but worth keepin’ an eye on. Overall, it’s a solid ride though!

I’ve seen quite a few folks in the Bay Area complain about the CX-5’s turbo lag and transmission hiccups. My neighbor even mentioned poor paint quality. Just gotta be prepared if you’re in Canada or the States!

I’ve owned a 2014 Mazda CX-5 in Canada for a few years now. Been hearing a lotta noise from the engine bay above 60 mph. Also, AC’s been acting up lately, like can’t decide on a temp. Pretty solid ride, but these issues are kinda annoying.

I’ve owned a 2014 Mazda CX-5 here in Canada, and a couple of quirks popped up. Noticed the CV axle’s temperamental, especially during winter—clunks and groans like a grumpy neighbor. Had it replaced. Also, the noise in the rear can drive ya nuts, like it’s chattin’ ya up. No biggie, but definitely peeved me weekday mornings on my commute. People rave about its handling, though, so it’s not all bad. People here seem to genuinely dig it, overall!

I’ve owned a '14 Mazda CX-5 upstate New York. Had issues with the infotainment system locking up and antenna probs — super annoying. Also, some folks report transmission jerks. Not my ride’s best traits, but drives well once you get past that!

I’ve had a Mazda CX-5 2014 here in Texas, and engine issues were a real bummer. A lot of folks here complain about transmission glitches too. Air conditioning problems popped up on mine a few times during hot summers. Gotta say, the ride’s generally solid, but regular maintenance is key to avoid big headaches. You’ve gotta be careful with owners’ forums coz not all advice is solid.

I’ve got a 2014 Mazda CX-5 in Canada, and let me tell ya, the CVT transmission has been a real pain. I’ve heard others in the USA with the same issue too. Weird noises at low speeds just can’t be ignored. And don’t even get me started on the rear axle seals leaking. Swear it drips oil like a leaky faucet every few thousand miles! Repairs are costly, man, but the styling still makes it worth it for me, for some reason.

I’ve got this 2014 Mazda CX-5 in Canada, and man, it’s been a journey. Had a few issues with the AC acting up and even an oil leak under the hood. Heard lots of folks say the transmission gets finicky after a few years too. Overall, a solid ride, but you gotta keep on top of maintenance, you know? Feel like they could be more consistent on that front.

I’ve had my '14 Mazda CX-5 in Texas for a while. Noticed some weird noises from the gear system and the AC’s not too cool anymore. I’ve read other folks here in Canada face the same issues plus the sensors acting up. Talk about a bummer!

I’ve got a 2014 Mazda CX-5, parked it up in Vancouver. Noticed some quirks – the AC not cooling as it should, and once, the engine light flickered on without reason. Crazy, right? Also, some hiccup with the BCM, which bugs a lot of folks. But, overall, still a solid ride, though these glitches are kinda annoying!
