So, I’ve had a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS for a while now. transmission issues are kinda a thing, and mine started acting up after like 100k miles. oil leaks too, usually from the front seal. shifting gets rough sometimes, especially in cold weather. anyone else have a rough time with the brakes ? they feel a bit mushy sometimes. And the aircon’s been acting up, needs some freon refill.
speaking of, headlights going out too early can be a pain, right? any way to fix it?
hope you can help me out with this, my car started making this weird grinding noise last week. keeps happening when i take a left turn, any idea what that could be?
Been a 'Murican and I’ve had my fair share of headaches with the 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe 2004 GLS. Shaky suspension, electrical gremlins – nothing frigid that chilly Canadian weather ain’t made worse. Steering sometimes feels off and don’t get me started on the AC – frostier outside, chillier in-car. Fans 'cept the engine noise!
I’ve had my '04 Santa Fe GLS in Toronto for years. Love her, but she’s got quirks. Knock on wood, but those knock sensors are a pain – false warnings more than once. And my buddy in Ohio had major engine troubles, had to get a replacement. HVAC seems finicky too—funny enough, during a Toronto snowstorm. Still, I’ve stuck with my gal!
In SoCal, had issues with my '04 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS. I’ve noticed the heater going kaput more times than I like, and I’ve dealt with steering play. Had a buddy over for BBQ and his Santa Fe was okay for a couple years till it started leaking oil in the worst possible times. Guess it’s a gamble, haha.
I’ve got a '04 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS in Toronto, Canada, and it served me great till the EGR valve threw tantrums. Turbo lag at times, but it’s a trooper on long drives. Battery issues were a headache too!
I’ve owned a '04 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS here in Canada, and got hit with a few quirks early on. The AC unit was like a broken fan, barely cooling us down in the summer heat. Also, found out the transmission had a mind of its own—slipping like crazy. Grabbed a few groceries for some DIY fixes, but kept dropping by the mechanic too. Overall, worth it for the space, but definitely needs love and care around these parts.
I’ve got a 2004 Santa Fe GLS from upstate NY. Oil leaks were a pain in my rear—had to keep an eye on the engine. The transmission felt off sometimes, jerky like, and the brakes squealed like a cat more times than I care to mention. Battery issues too, had to swap it twice in a year. Wish I’d picked something else!
I’ve had a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS in Canada, and it’s been a mixed bag. Oil leaks were a real pain, and the transmission felt sketchy after a while. But aside from that, it’s been a reliable ride around town. Had my mechanic check it out regularly.
I’ve owned a '04 Santa Fe GLS in Canada, and the transmission’s been a real troublemaker. It shifts rough around highway speeds. The suspension also feels sketchy on bumpy roads, causing noticeable shimmies. Air conditioning’s been acting up too, sometimes just spouts warm air. But still, it’s a solid car when it decides to behave—it’s all part of the adventure, I guess!
I had a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS in Seattle, and the transmission was a headache. Got stuck in traffic one time and it just stalled out! Audio system act weird too, kept cutting out. But decent ride in general, not too bad for the price back then.

I’ve noticed with my 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS here in Florida, the transmission can be sketchy—it keeps slipping gears! Some others in Canada mentioned similar probs, plus those pesky alignment issues. Thankfully, a good mechanic fixes them up, but proper maintenance’s key, y’know? Avoids a lot of headaches down the line!
I’ve got a 2004 GLS from the Carolinas, been having a laugh with it. Keeps blinking error codes like nobody’s business, especially during the winter—feels like it hates the cold as much as I do. Steering issues too, checking the rack’s been on my list for ages. Anyone else face this?
I’ve had my '04 Santa Fe in the States and, man, the transmission was a real headache! Keeps slipping, especially around 60k miles. Suspension’s wonky too, but it’s still a solid SUV overall. Anyone else in the same boat?
I’ve owned a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS in Canada, and the transmission’s been tricky. Engines kick in late, battery warns outta nowhere. Took it in more times than I care. Still love it, but those issues can be a real pain in the ya know what. Anyone else have the same?
I’ve owned a '04 GLS through a Canadian summer—cool looking but can be a pain. Experienced major issues with the transmission—had to replace it after just 60k miles. And the AC’s been acting up more times than I can count. Still love the ride, though. Anyone else had this?
I’ve had a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS in Colorado and seen some common probs: oil leaks, tranny issues, and funky A/C. Had my head scratched over the electrical stuff a couple times too. But it’s a solid ride for the money!
I’ve owned a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS in Canada and trust me, these cars have some quirks. The transmission sometimes shifts weird, especially uphill, and I’ve had an issue with the AC not cooling, which sucked during summers. But overall, it’s solid for what it offers. Like anything, it needed regular maintenance. Anybody else experienced this?
Living in Canada, I’ve dealt with the Hyundai Santa Fe 2004 GLS’s transmission acting up, real annoying when cold in the morning. The timing belt’s also a pain—had to change it way sooner than expected. Have heard rod knocking too… scares me when I’m driving! Anyone else with similar gripes, or is it just me? Guess I’m just lucky or unlucky!
I’ve had a 2004 GlS Santa Fe in Texas. Transmission’s quirky and the AC sometimes acts up. The sound system’s not the best, either. But it’s solid for a family car if you’re on a budget, still got me cruising!
I’ve got a '04 Santa Fe GLS in Canada, and man, the A/C’s been on the fritz. But I’ve been lucky with my engine, no major issues yet. Heard folks complaining about the transmission shearing out too, which sounds real annoying. I checked the brakes last month; they’re still solid. Just gotta love that rugged Santa Fe vibe, right?
