What are common issues with the Ford Fusion 2.5 engine?

Had issues with my Ford Fusion’s 2.5 engine before. First, it was the oil consumption. It seemed to always need an oil top-up way too soon. Like, not even hitting 5,000 miles before it got low.

Got paranoid with the coolant leaks too. Thought it was just condensation but ended up finding a small leak. Replaced the hoses and it’s been fine but still.

Some say the engine can be finicky with the spark plugs. Mine needed a change earlier than expected too. But hey, maybe it’s normal?

Transmission issues too. Like slipping gears, super annoying especially in traffic. And the power steering seems to go out sometimes. Anybody experienced this? How did you fix it?

Dealership repairs can get pricey but seems inevitable with this ride. Just curious to hear others’ experiences. You think it’s just me or is the 2.5 a regular headache for others?

I had a '15 Fusion here in Toronto, and the 2.5 engine started misfiring after just 50K. Dealer visits became a regular thing – not fun at all. Some peeps think it’s just the ignition coils. Heard similar stories up north too, anyone else?

I’ve had a bit of trouble with my Ford Fusion’s 2.5 engine here in Chicago. Some folks say it’s notorious for fuel issues and the timing belt can throw a fit if not replaced. A buddy once said his engine started whining like a stuck goose. Just gonna stay on top of maintenance, you never know when it might act up. Heard it’s more reliable nowadays, but always good to keep an eye, y’know?

I’ve had issues with the 2.5 Fusion in the Midwest—stalled more than once. Heard fuel pump troubles are real too. My buddy’s in Canada, same probs. Seems like a weak link—super frustrating when you’re counting on that drive home. Always feel like it needs TLC.

I’ve got a '13 Ford Fusion 2.5 in Ontario and man, I’ve noticed some issues. Seems like fuel pump gremlins are back, also had a couple of knocks in the cylinders. Others here mentioned spark plug dramas too – Murphy’s law, eh? Everyone’s got 'em stories.

I’ve been driving my '13 Ford Fusion in Vancouver, and the 2.5 engine’s got its quirks. Heard about the EGR valve messing up and causing misfires — totally relates. And don’t even get me started on the fuel pump acting up after a few miles. One buddy of mine even had to replace the turbocharger — not cheap, I tell you. But takes care of it, and it cruises pretty fine. If you’re stuck with these issues, might wanna check out some fixes online.

I’ve got a Ford Fusion, and that 2.5 engine’s like a temperamental cat—I’ve patched busted timing chains twice in the Midwest. Burnt oil and rough idle are common too. Seems more issues popping up than a summer storm upstate.

I’ve been driving my Ford Fusion in the States long enough to spot some issues with the 2.5 engine. This thing’s notorious for coolant leaks—like it’s a natural disaster or something! I’ve also heard tons of folks complain about those spark plugs needing a swap more often than you’d think. Plus, that pesky engine light keeps flickering on me like a cheap billboard. It’s a piece of work, for sure, but still kinda cool to drive.

The 2.5 engine kept me on my toes: dropped through the dip and wouldn’t start in some chilly Ohio winters. Had it fixed thrice, but still gets some queasy vibes when I drive up the Rockies. Anyone else with similar ashtrays of issues?

I’ve had my fair share of ups and downs with my Ford Fusion 2.5 right here in Toronto. Tried to beat traffic once and the engine hesitated like crazy on acceleration. I’v also had some headaches with the fuel injection, costing me for repairs here and there. But the ride is smooth otherwise. Heard from buddies in the US that they’re having the same thrills and spills, so never a dull moment with these Falcos!

I’ve noticed with my '14 Ford Fusion in Toronto, engine troubles ain’t rare. Key issues include rough idling and stalling out middle of nowhere. Just fixed my ignition coil. Seems like a “thing” here? Anyone else experience the same? Driving a lemon these past couple years. Road trip nightmare at best!

I’ve had this Ford Fusion 2.5 in Detroit for years. It’s great until the timing chain acts up – bam, spends in the shop. Engine management light is a pain, switches off anytime. Just wish it was more dependable, y’know? Guess that’s car life for ya.
