What are common issues with the 2014 Mazda 3 sedan?

Had my 2014 Mazda 3 sedan for a while and thought I’d share a few things I’ve noticed. First off, the transmission can be a bit iffy, especially when shifting gears. Heard others say it’s a common issue too. And, the engine light pops on randomly sometimes. Went to the shop a few times, and they usually tell me it’s just a sensor thing.

The AC has been acting up in the summer. It’d work fine one day and the next it wouldn’t blow cold air at all. Had to get it checked out—typical, right?

One time had trouble starting it in the morning—it just wouldn’t.

What about you guys? Any weird things with your cars? or maybe same issues? Would love to hear if it’s just me having these.

I’ve owned my '14 Mazda 3 in Texas for a few years now. Noticed some niggly suspension issues, and the AC struggled when I tried to cool down during a heatwave. Handling’s great, though! Solid ride till it ain’t.

I’ve got a '14 Mazda 3 in Texas, and man, the AC decides to go on strike during the hottest months, trust me! Also, had some vibes with the engine light lighting up now and then. My buddy in Canada mentioned his had some issues with the infotainment system freezing often. It’s solid overall, but these quirks can be annoying.

I had a 2014 Mazda 3 in Cali and the engine light was always on. The dealer couldn’t fix it, only reset it. Power windows also had issues, stuck halfway a lot. Not a bad car otherwise, just a bit of a head-scratcher!

Hey everyone, I’ve owned a 2014 Mazda 3 in Chicago for years. Noticed the engine light keeps flickering on. Fuel efficiency dropped too even after a tune-up. Dealer fixed the evap system once, but stuff still seems off. Anyone else in the States facing this? Love the car but these glitches be driving me nuts!

Got a 2014 Mazda 3 sedan here in Cali and I’ve had my fair share of issues. The AC struggled like crazy, and I’ve had battery probs gotta swap it twice. Dealership service came through most times but boy did it take ages. Anyone else feel their car’s more like a headache than a ride?

I’ve driven a 2014 Mazda 3 sedan up here in Ontario, and man, it’s been pretty good mostly, but yeah, there’s one glitch. Noticed starting issues during winter—super annoying. Battery used to act weird too. Overall though, it’s solid and reliable! Heads up to everyone keepin’ an eye out for this.

I’ve got a 2014 Mazda 3 in LA and had a few issues. The interior plastics felt cheap after a while, and the AC decided to fail in the middle of summer. Dealer service was great though, so no stress there. Anybody else had these probs?

Had a 2014 Mazda 3 in Texas and run into some head-bangers. The Skyactiv engines are supposed to be smooth, but mine made rattling noises above 60mph. Suspension felt stiff on rough roads too. Battery life was a bummer, kept dying. But hey, the styling was sick! Overall, a mixed bag but worth it for the looks?

I’ve had a 2014 Mazda 3 sedan in Canada for a while now, and I’ve noticed it’s got a few quirks. The engine can run rough sometimes, and I’ve dealt with some electrical glitches – like the radio and lights going kaput without warning. Steering feels a bit too responsive, which was a bummer when I first hit the highway. But overall, it’s been a solid ride, keeping me on the road without much fuss!

I’ve had a 2014 Mazda 3 sedan here in Ontario for a couple of years now. Noticed a few issues: the seats can get uncomfortable during long drives, and the infotainment system can be glitchy. Had to replace the water pump too — a common thing people mention. Overall solid, but a few hiccups here and there!

I’ve got a 2014 Mazda 3 in Toronto, and the AC acts up in summer. Oil leaks? Yup. But those dang seats are so comfy, doesn’t matter. Update the software once and it feels new again!

I’ve owned a 2014 Mazda 3 in Canada for a couple o’ years, and it’s been pretty smooth overall. But I have to admit, the CVT transmission can be finicky around 70 mph, which gets me pondering why it won’t shift like it should. Had to replace the spark plugs earlier than expected too – a bit of a bummer considering the mileage. Fuel economy is solid though, making it a decent ride. Just some quirks to expect!

In Texas, my 2014 Mazda 3 had a heck of a time with the transmission—it felt like it wanted to start a dance-off every time I hit the gas. Got that fixed once but it acted up again. Tricky little beast sometimes!

I’ve got a 2014 Mazda 3 in Vancouver, Canada. Noticed the AC clutch acting up in summer, plus had a recall scare! Leaks and that pesky sonar system a bit wonky, but overall solid ride. Anybody else with similar gripes?

So, I’ve had this 2014 Mazda 3 sedan in the Midwest for a couple of years now, and the head unit acting up is the biggest headache. Battery draining like crazy when parked is a thing too. My buddy in Canada had issues with his door locks just not wanting to work. But, aside from that, I’ve gotta say for such a small car, it handles pretty beast, MPG is solid, and resale’s been surprisingly okay. Just keep an eye on maintenance costs, they creep up!

I’ve owned a 2014 Mazda 3 in Seattle for a few years now, and it’s mostly been a smooth ride. Had some trouble with the engine light flashing randomly but figured it was the MAF sensor. Dealer fixed it quick. Taught me that overheating issues are common too, especially in hotter months. Can’t go wrong for the price!

Living in Toronto, I’ve noticed the Mazda 3s 2014 models are prone to transmission glitches, idk if this is all of 'em but mine stalled a couple times. The sun visor and air con held up pretty well though. Any other Canadian experiences out there?

I’ve got this 2014 Mazda 3 in Canada, and it’s a gem until it acts up! Had issues with the transmission shifting rough and the AC kicking the bucket every other summer. Gosh, leaks everywhere! But hey, still drives nice.

I’ve had a 2014 Mazda 3 in the USA, and let me tell ya, it’s been mostly great! Minor issues: the paint kinda chips easy, especially if you park outside. Also, the turn signal can be a pain, stopping intermittently. But the ride’s smooth enough for me, and it’s still reliable. Overall, a solid choice if you ain’t too picky 'bout the small hiccups. Yea, run-ins with repairs were rare but manageable!
