So I’ve been hearing a lot about the 2012 Nissan Sentra 2.0, and gotta say, it’s got its quirks. The transmission sometimes feels like it’s playing mind games, shifting when it shouldn’t. Anyone else notice that? A buddy of mine had it and mentioned it felt off on longer drives.
And then there’s the engine. Mine was giving me grief, like hesitation when accelerating. Got it checked, and they said it’s probably the throttle body or MAP sensor. Anyone else got that trouble? Also got issues with the AC sometimes. It just stops cooling and you’re sitting there wondering what happened.
But then, there are good things too. The fuel economy is decent, and it’s a comfy ride most of the time. windshield wipers were daft too, replaced them myself. Got other stories from your Sentra to share? Not all stories were bad but mine was a mixed bag and a half
In Chicago, my ’12 Nissan Sentra 2.0 gobbled fuel like there’s no tomorrow. Had a mofo of a time with oil leaks too. Not sure what’s up with the AC faffin’ off sporadically. Just my luck, right? Other Sentra peeps, spots any issues?
I’ve got a 2012 Nissan Sentra 2.0 in Canada, and oil leaks are a constant headache. The CVT transmission is another pain—stops working outta nowhere! Also, AC packs sometime won’t blow cold. A buddy said his handled over 200k miles before dying, so patience pays off. Nonetheless, those issues can be frustrating!
I’ve owned a 2012 Nissan Sentra 2.0 in Canada and can vouch for a few common issues. First, the AC can get real wonky if you live in colder climates. I’ve also had some trouble with the fuel gauge being wonky as heck. It’s not a lemon, but you’ve gotta keep an eye out. AC repair and battery swaps were the most annoying yet!
I’ve got a 2012 Sentra 2.0 here in Canada, and man, the fuel gauge can be totally off! Also, the aircon blows hot or cold randomly
. But it’s solid mileage, and the cabin’s comfy despite those quirks. Anyone else with similar issues?
Always hear about the 2012 Sentra 2.0 acting up north, right here in Montreal. I’ve got buddy whose AC cuts out randomly, and the transmission’s hiccup at rush hour like crazy. Oh and forget about the check engine light saga—it’s like they live!
Apparently, JDM models get hefty recalls. Total bummer for Sentra fans!
I’ve had mine for a few years here in Seattle, and the 2012 Nissan Sentra 2.0’s had its quirks. Noticed some issues with the AC compressor acting up during hotter months. Also, the fuel efficiency wave period isn’t as strong; it dropped a bit. Had to replace the glove box lets after just a couple years - total bummer! Still loves me though!
Went through some real headaches with my 2012 Nissan Sentra 2.0 in Canada. Noticed the AC blows out warm air, 'n battery dying way too early. Several friends got similar reports. Seems like a car everyone loves until it starts acting up! Definitely look into that front axle seal wear too.
I’ve owned a 2012 Nissan Sentra 2.0 in Canada and let me tell ya, overheating’s been a real pain. I’ve had to keep an eye on coolant levels like a hawk. Plus, the CVT transmission can get glitchy if you’re not gentle around town. But overall, it’s a decent ride for its price, just gotta be a bit careful and remember, preventative maintenance is key. If anyone else’s dealing with this, they might nod in agreement!
I’ve got a '12 Sentra 2.0 in Michigan. The engine mounts were a nightmare—super annoying to fix. Also, I’ve seen folks complain about the AC acting up, especially in the summer months. Always good to keep some cash aside for surprises. Ugh, cars!
I’ve owned a 2012 Nissan Sentra 2.0 in Canada, and it’s been a mostly chill ride. Battery issues seem common, though – changed mine twice. MPG’s decent but check out the AC system; mine decided to ghost during winter last year. Regular oil changes keep it running smoother, though! You’ve got any other Sentra stories?
I’ve got this 2012 Nissan Sentra in Toronto, and man, the brakes been nagging since 2015. Always at the shop, getting them replaced. Exhaust issues, too. Tune it up often or it’ll piss you off quick. Next one? Nah, too risky.
I have this '12 Nissan Sentra 2.0 up in Columbus, Ohio, and she’s a bit of a handful. Battery drama, check—seems to kick the bucket faster than a Goldilocks muffler. Had issues with the AC, gassing out in hot summer. Also noticed a weird clicking sound when I got over a certain speed—pretty sure it’s not an experiment from NASA! But hey, it’s probably the quirkiest I’ve driven, as long as you catch the troubles early.
Had a '12 Nissan Sentra 2.0 in NYC, ran well till engine light popped up—thought oil leak or some electrical glitch. Tuned up the spark plugs & air filter; helped a bit. Sentra’s Pete’s ride but gotta keep an eye on the wear n tear.
I’ve got a 2012 Nissan Sentra 2.0 up in Seattle, and let me tell ya, the recall lists are a nightmare. Brake issues, CVT problems – a real headache. Happened to me, too. I’ve fixed most, but man, those repairs don’t come cheap! Always keep an eye on it.
I’ve owned a couple of '12 Sentras, lived in Canada, and man. The alignment’s always a pain and handling in snow’s not great. Sunroof leaks too—annoying, but you figure it out. Overall, decent ride, but watch those!
I’ve got a 2012 Nissan Sentra 2.0 here in Toronto, and man, the CVT issues are real! The transmission gets choppy after a while. Also, electronic gizmos in the cabin go bonkers sometimes. My buddy in Seattle had to replace his battery, like twice! But still love the ride, despite these headaches. Anyone else had these probs?
