What are common issues with the 2011 GMC Sierra 2500 Denali?

Had a buddy with a 2011 GMC Sierra 2500 Denali. Had some issues though. Transmission was a bit finicky. Gear shifts felt rough, especially at high speeds. Could it be the transmission fluid? Or maybe something else? And the fuel pump gave him trouble once. Made it hard to start the truck. Had to get a new pump eventually. But then again, my bro says the cooling system was hot.
