so u know i’ve been driving my '05 grand cherokee laredo for a while now and noticed a few annoying things. first off, the gas mileage is legit bad. i mean, it takes forever to fill up. anyone else feel like they’re always at the gas station? the AC is another pain. starts working fine, then suddenly acts like it’s on its last legs. gotta keep those vents clean, i guess.
headlights are tricky too. they get cloudy real quick. cleaned mine once and it helped a bit, but still not great. also, the brakes sometimes squeak like crazy. not cool when you’re trying to zip by something. and the radio, it has a mind of its own, like it always glitches on the station i want. anyone else deal with these? maybe someone has a fix, right? oh, and one time my window wouldn’t roll up. had to jimmy it open with a coat hanger (true story!). just thought i’d share in case anyone has ideas or similar stories.
In Texas, the 05 Grand Cherokee Laredo’s AC goes kaput more often than not. Power locks be glitchin’, and the tranny’s shaky. Just my two cents from the good ol’ Lone Star State!
I’ve had an '05 Grand Cherokee Laredo up in Canada. The steering was super touchy at first, but with a bit of an alignment fix, it’s been smooth. Oh, and the AC totally blew its coolant hose once, totally annoying! Battery issues too, always gotta check it!
I’ve got a 05 Grand Cherokee Laredo here in Texas, and man, the A/C’s always been a pain. It never cools right! I’ve heard some folks chatter about the alternator giving 'em grief too. One of my buds had the engine light pop on more than a dozen times! Maintenance seems key if you wanna avoid these headaches. But hey, it does have its perks when it’s running smooth!
I’ve owned a 05 Grand Cherokee Laredo in Michigan for years. Common gripes include rough ride over bumps and some electrical issues, especially with the radio/RIP the clock alarm goes bonkers sometimes. Also, a few people mention transmission glitches—they seem finicky. I’ve read some horror stories online, but held up till now! Anyone else in the Great Lakes region dealt with this?
I’ve been driving my '05 Grand Cherokee Laredo in Texas, and it’s a solid rig. Thing is, lots of folks mention the rust—it gets vicious quick. Also, I’ve noticed the transmission acting up sometimes, which can be real annoying. Overall, it’s a classic Jeep, but needs TLC. Just my experience, y’all!
I’ve got a 05’ Grand Cherokee here in Toronto, been great for years. Battery’s a hassle and the AC blows hot instead of cold, but it’s all good with regular check-ups. Love that ride, though!

I’ve had a 05 Grand Cherokee Laredo in Boston, and engine light pops up more than a coffee break at Dunkin’. Transmission can be a real pain—sometimes it hesitates on the highway. Rust caught up pretty quick too, be careful on the salted roads in winter!
I’ve got a buddy in Michigan with a 2005 Grand Cherokee Laredo, and he won’t shut up about the electrical gremlins—headlights blowing, fuses blowing. Ain’t no biggie right? Well, it gets old real quick. Plus, the engine light turns on like it’s at a rave every so often. And let me not start on the rust issues he said he had with ours, feels like they won’t stop poppin’ up!
I’ve owned a '05 Grand Cherokee Laredo in Ohio, and man, the electrical system’s always been a pain. Breaks down more than lights up! Suspension gets sketchy too, often creaks on uneven roads. Guess that’s its LJ ‘charm’.
But, still runs like a charm. Had it for years now.
In Ohio, I’ve seen the '05 Grand Cherokee Laredo struggle with a finicky transmission—it jerks when I think it should cruise. Also, that check engine light pops up more than annoying Aunt Marge. Rust started creeping along the wheel wells early, too. Anyone else?
I’ve had my share of runs-in with the '05 Grand Cherokee Laredo right here in the Midwest. The rust around the wheel wells is a real pain, plus the check engine light—a favorite for random reasons. And don’t get me started on the transmission acting up! Sometimes it’s smooth, other times it’s like riding a bucking bronco! Anyone else dealing with these quirks or figured out a fix? Always figured this ride should’ve been tougher!
