Yeah, so i’ve driven my GMC Sierra Duramax diesel engine, and let me tell you, it’s had its quirks. First off, the fuel injectors, they clog up quick. Had to replace them about twice. Seems like they don’t play nice with diesel long term. And, the glow plugs, they act up a lot, especially on cold mornings. Ever experience that? I heard some folks do a glow plug kit replacement and it helps.
Plus, the EGR cooler going out is a real pain. A buddy had to dump cash twice because of it. And then there’s the transmission issue, shifting can get really jerky sometimes. But then again, what diesel truck doesn’t have some transmission vibe problems?
And coughing up a lung on the exhaust, that diesel smell, it’s super strong—my kid complains every time. What’s your biggest annoyance with these engines? Always a hassle but worth it, diesel gets the job done, right?
I’ve had some headaches with my GMC Sierra Duramax on the New England roads. Oil leaks and injector probs suck, especially when towing on those twisty hills. Had the dealer fiddle with it more times than I’d like. Anyone else got the same woes? Guess it’s a common Duramax drama here.
I’ve had my share of issues with a 2015 Duramax out here in the Great White North—2015. I’ve heard the oil cooler problems are no joke, causing overheats. I’ve seen folks struggling with injectors too. The power’s solid but, man, gettin’ parts on time can be a beast. But once you fix 'em, it’s smooth cruising! Keeps you test driven, that’s for sure.
I’ve owned a GMC Sierra Duramax in Detroit, and I’ve heard some chatter about its recalls. Fuel delivery and emission stuff, like a charred engine. It blew my APFCV for nothing and made me garage her longer than I hoped. At least it ain’t thirsty though, right? Some good pickup power, but man, those issues are truckers’d headache. Anyone else’s ride acting all wonky?
In 2016, I got my GMC Sierra from Pittsburgh and learned Duramax engines got quirky. Leak issues and head gasket troubles were a headache. Dealer visits were too frequent, but the power’s unmatched once those fixes are sorted. Friends say it’s part of the diesel life, but still worth it when you’ve got the peace ya know?
I’ve got a 2015 GMC Sierra here in Colorado, and boy, it’s been a rollercoaster ride with this Duramax diesel. I have trouble with the turbocharger more than once – it’s like it throws a tantrum and won’t work back properly. I’ve heard the fuel pumps can be super picky too. But, the beast when it runs, it’s smoother than jazz. Someone said they had wiring issues too. Anyone else dealt with bird nests behind the dashboard? Must be a common fix around here.
I’ve had my fair share with the GMC Sierra Duramax in Colorado. Diesel does the job but man, there’s been some bumps. The EGR cooler never liked cold weather—keeps clogging up! My buddy’s rig had issues with the exhaust gas heat exchanger… another beast to tackle. Looks like higher PSI and all that power means you gotta stay on your toes. Still, it’s a beast for towing, just gotta wrench a bit more than expected. Anyone else dealin’ with headaches, or is it just us diesel diehards?
I’ve got a 2015 GMC Sierra Duramax in Dallas & man, those emissions problems are a real headache! Had to drop a good chunk of change on repairs 'cause the DPF filter keeps clogging. Not to mention the weird stutters and MAP sensor acting up too. Quite the ride though!
I’ve had my ups and downs with my GMC Sierra Duramax in Texas. Had issues with the DPF and injectors – it’s like they’re never right. But it’s a beast when it works. The torque is ridiculous, but those maintenance headaches are just nagging. Now if only those alerts would stop flashing!
Seems like it’s a common story up north too.
I’ve had a bit of a rough go with my GMC Sierra Duramax in MI—definitely known for the issues. The transmission’s been a beast; stalls out like it’s hangry. And, man, hearing those annoying check engine lights pop up like candy—super annoying. Met some fellow Sierra owners in Canada, and they were whisperin’ about overheated catalytic converters too. Seems it’s an all-too-common pain. Just ridein’ easy these days!
I’ve had my fair share of issues with my GMC Sierra Duramax in Texas, man. The transmission’s been a real pain, always acting up! Plus, the EGR cooler blew up once—total nightmare. Even got a scare with the DPF clogging like crazy, wasn’t fun. Keeps me outta the garage too often. Anyone else hit similar trouble spots up north or down south? Been discussing this with my crew too. Cheers!
