What are common issues with Ford Escapes 2016 models?

Had issues with my 2016 ford escape not too long ago. the powertrain control module light keeps popping up. had it checked and they said it was just a software glitch. fixed it but im worried it might come back. anybody else had that problem?

my brakes started squeaking really loud one day. i took it to the shop and they said i needed new pads and rotors. cost a pretty penny. did anyone else have to do that?

also, i heard someone say that the transmission can have issues too. has anyone had problems with that? mine seems fine but just wondering.

pretty sure mine didn’t have any mileage probs but i know some people did. what have you guys dealt with? it feels like i hear about something different every other month with this car. and no surprise the warranty didn’t cover everything, man.

if anyone has tips or tricks for fixing minor issues without spending an arm and a leg, would love to hear. and maybe avoid the dealer when possible.

In Toronto, I’ve had issues with the Ford Escape’s engine stutterin’ at startup, and leaks in the AC. Also, my friend mentioned the radio actin’ up—uses and glitches. It’s probably a thing with 2016 models in Canada. Fitness tests always brought you closer to warranty claims!

I’ve got this '16 Ford Escape up in Canada and the transmission’s been acting up—frequent jerking when I switch gears. Also, some buddies mentioned weird oil leaks and that AC kicks the bucket in summer. Also, the cupholders are like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole, LOL. Nothing super major, but I’ve been keeping an eye on it.

In Toronto, I’ve heard lots about the 2016 Ford Escape acting up, especially that transmission problem. My neighbor’s one stalled out right in the middle of traffic like a buffoon. Navigation systems dropping out and weird electrical glitches are common too. Some good reviews though, especially on fuel efficiency. Interesting mix, really.

I’ve had a 2016 Ford Escape in Texas, and the transmission is a real pain! Hard to shift gears and gets stuck in neutral sometimes. Air conditioning issues, too—fans shots up randomly. Battery life ain’t too solid as well. Everyone seems to struggle with these peccadilloes.

I’ve had a 2016 Ford Escape in Oregon, and the engine light pops up too often. Drains battery faster than expected, but the ride’s smooth, just annoying autopeep stuff.

I’ve got experience with my '16 Ford Escape here in Toronto—surprise!—all sorts of weird noises from the suspension, plus battery issues were no joke. Pampered it like a baby, but still a headache, ya know? Luckily swapped to another ride now.

I’ve owned a 2016 Ford Escape out here in Minnesota and let me tell ya, the common issues are pretty noticeable! First up, we had some annoying engine trouble - it’d start misfiring out of nowhere. Had to have the ignition coils replaced like twice. Then those pesky door locks go berserk, freezing up in cold weather, which is a real pain. Dashboard lights also had a mind of their own, lighting up like a Christmas tree. Just know what you’re getting into, folks!

I’ve had issues with the 2016 Ford Escape up in Canada, mainly with the transmission slipping. I’ve also heard some folks complain about the battery draining fast. Rust is a thing, too. My buddy saw his rear hatch act up, too. But, hey, it’s decent for family trips- at least until the problems hit!

I’ve had two 2016 Ford Escapes and live in Canada. The infotainment system acts up a lot - freezes, especially with the Sync 3 update. Also, had issues with the CVT transmission; it felt like draggin’ especially on cold days. Brakes squeak louder than my sis after living in a teen’s bouncy house. Never a car problem that can’t be sorted, but should expect a little finnicky-ness with these Escapes!

I’ve got a 2016 Ford Escape here in Ontario, can’t believe the AC died just last summer. Heard lots in Toronto about tricky transmission issues too. Seems like another Ford fiasco, LOL. Suggestions appreciated.

I’ve got a 2016 Ford Escape up here in Toronto, and man, I’ve had some funky issues with it! The transmission’s been acting up, groaning like an old man getting up from a couch. Battery died outta nowhere last winter too. Feels like it needs a spa day, not just gas! LOL

I’ve got a 2016 Ford Escape parked in Toronto, and the transmission’s all whack, slips like crazy! You’ve heard about the AC going out too? Best to keep checking those common issues to avoid big headaches. Definitely a bummer…

I’ve got a 2016 Ford Escape up here in Canada. Started having battery issues not long ago. Some say the turbo can be finicky, too. Not the same as driving my old Camry. Really wish I’d gone with a different brand!

I’ve got a 2016 Ford Escape here in Toronto and man, the transmission’s just quirky. Had some serious shuddering, and the dealer couldn’t pinpoint it. My buddy in Denver is also like, ‘Oh, the engine light keeps popping on!’ Folks in Arizona say it’s fine but y’know, yeah, it’s hit or miss. Just brace for some unexpected repairs if you get one of these bad boys. Everyone’s story’s a bit different, but it’s a sneaky car!

In Toronto, my 2016 Ford Escape had lots of electrical glitches, like the AC dying mid-drive. Thrashed it hard, but it still had issues with the transmission slipping around 60k miles. Trust me, it was a nightmare to fix! :red_car::money_with_wings:. Heard similar stories from others; seems like a common thing with this model.

I’ve had a 2016 Ford Escape in Canada, and it’s mostly been solid, but some folks in my area talk about transmission issues—did have one myself. Powertrain warranty helped out big time. Also, a few complaints ‘bout the infotainment system lagging. All in all, I’m riding it till the wheels drop!

I remember having a 2016 Ford Escape and man, parts in Canada, we had a real headache with the CVT issues—reliable one day, blowing up the next. Leaks around the engine were a soup, too; almost flooded a station drive-thru. That model was a beast but so thirsty! Still, great handling. Can’t deny I had fun when it was in top form, though!
