What are common issues with a 2006 Honda Odyssey motor?

Had some issues with my 2006 Honda Odyssey recently. Dead battery all the time—one day it just wouldn’t start! Had to jump it just to get to work. Anybody else have these issues? Could be the alternator or something. And then there’s the weird knocking sound from the engine. Tried changing the oil filter but it still happens. Heard it’s the timing belt too. Did anyone replace their timing belt yet? Seems like you might wanna keep an eye on the coolant level too. Had some leaks. My Odyssey has about 150k miles; should I worry about it giving up on me? Also, what about the transmission fluid? Mine never seems to change. Just sharing my mess lol. Hope this helps. And yeah, what’s up with the strange noises at high speeds?

I’ve got a '06 Odyssey and trust me, it’s been a ride. The engine cooling system can be a nightmare, especially around here in Texas, where the heat feels like the polar opposite of a joyride. Had my radiator busted twice! Oil leaks too - just pop covers. Keep an eye on the timing belt and belt tensioner. Living in a land that likes to throw everything at ya, eh?

I’ve had a few run-ins with my '06 Honda Odyssey here in the States. First off, the V6 engine sometimes acts up with idle speed issues—like it’s got a mind of its own! Plus, been dealing with some pesky transmission jerks, even took it to the shop a couple of times. Heard from other owners, it’s also common to get those thermostat or water pump issues. Overall, it’s a solid van, but definitely requires some TLC every now and then!

I’ve got a '06 Odyssey in California, and the ignition coil went out twice! Always got that spark when I drove it like it was brand new. Super bummer but gotta deal with it, you know how it is!

I’ve got a 2006 Honda Odyssey myself, and down here in Texas, the transmission issues keep coming up. My buddy’s had to replace his a couple of times already—an annoying fix. Also, the fuel efficiency seems to tank after a while. Anyone else noticed the same?

I’ve got a '06 Odyssey, drove it through the snow here in Minn. Power steering failure was a headache, and the oil leaks were relentless! I’ve heard others mention transmission issues too—freaks me out cause it was a beast for the family. Dealers gonna bet how many miles left—ugh, some advice to appease 'em would be ace. Tried a few fixes, but always back to square one!

I’ve got a 2006 Honda Odyssey from Canada, and it’s been a bit of a ride. The timing belt always seems to need a look, and I heard the head gasket can be a pain too. My buddy’s had some issues with oil leaks, and I think the V6 motor can be tricky to keep happy. Overall, a solid fam hauler, but those sue-developers sure like to test us, huh?

I’ve got a 2006 Honda Odyssey from the SF Bay Area and I’ve seen it struggle with head gasket issues. Pretty common if ya can’t keep up with the maintenance. Also, the CV joints gave out way sooner than they should’ve. Gotta baby it like a new ride but hey, it gets you where ya need to go.

I’ve had my 2006 Honda Odyssey for years here in Canada, and the motor’s been solid mostly. But man, the V6 sometimes has a hard time with timing chain tension. A friend of mine even had a rod knock scare, so always get it checked early. Battery dying too, that’s a pain, but it’s replaceable. It’s still a great ride, but ya gotta keep an eye on it.

I’ve seen lots of 2006 Honda Odyssey owners in the States grumbling over the timing belt issues. Transmissions act funny too, especially after hitting the 100k-mark. No kidding!

Had a 2006 Honda Odyssey in Portland—battery drainage and timing belt issues were a pain. Had to deal with the tranny acting up too. Swear the alternator gave up last year. Oh man, what a saga!

I’ve owned a 2006 Honda Odyssey in Ontario for a few years now, and there are a few issues I keep hearing for the motor. Many folks mention transmission troubles and V6 engine reliability problems. I’ve had to deal with a leaky valve cover gasket too, which was a bit of a hassle. Sticky bearings are another common gripe – can be a real pain, man.

I’ve got a buddy in Seattle who faced some crazy issues with his '06 Honda Odyssey. The engine started making this weird rattling noise, then the transmission started slipping like crazy. I watched him swap out the camshaft sensor more times than I care to admit. And god forbid you touch the timing belt, that thing had him up late nights and biting the ends of his nails. It’s like they’re built to just keep you on your toes!

I’ve got a '06 Odyssey, lived in Ontario for years. Had some issues with the EGR valve sticking, super annoying. My dad thinks the transmission can be tough if driven poorly, it’s all about the maintenance, you know? Also, can’t forget the timing chain tensioner. Heard some other folks had problems there too, definitely something to keep an eye on. Good luck, folks!

I’ve got an Odie from '06, in sunny Cali. Head gasket woes & timing belt mess—had to fix those. But overall, a beast on the road. Believe those rumors, they’re real!

I have this 2006 Honda Odyssey and it’s been a real journey. Living in Ontario, I’ve faced a few motor quirks—loose serpentine belts and transmission issues are common. Got the VAN SOF TREMENDOUS, but those rattles can ruin your drive. Joked with the mechanic, “It feels like a bumpy rollercoaster ride down Main Street!” After some tweaks, though, it’s running smoother, but I definitely keep an eye on those belt noises and fuel injectors. Always gotta be vigilant with these baby vans!

In Virginia, I’ve seen my share of 2006 Odyssey troubles. The ECM issues are real, often cranking problems lol. Plus, folks have been complaining about the V6 just dying outta blue, crazy! Don’t get me started on the AC – feels like a broken air pump sometimes. Luckily, my dealer knew tricks to keep it on the road. My wife and kiddos still love the van, but it can be a headache, for real!

Yeah, so I’ve had my fair share of drama with my '06 Odyssey. Living in the GTA, it’s never-ending. Leak’s a biggie—I mean, who wants a soggy floor mat? cue eye roll Timing belt’s another nightmare; I was super vague with that one, and boy oh boy, did it ruffle my feathers. Also, the transmission thing can be a real headache, especially when it throws tantrums mid-drive. But hey, you win some, you lose some, right?

I’ve got a '06 Odyssey from Miami. Recently, the engine light went off, and turns out I had a head gasket issue—not fun, trust me. Super common around here, too. Seems like lots of folks in the USA deal with them. The cold starts can be a pain, like my car’s throwing a liar when it gets cold. Wish Honda had beefed up the motor for this model. Tried a quick fix, but ya know, your milage may vary!

I’ve had my fair share with a '06 Honda Odyssey around Michigan and trust me, the AC compressor can be a real pain, acting up in the summer. And let’s not forget the V6 engines needing catalytic converters swapped more often than some folks trade shoes. Had a friend deal with rough idling too, ended up being fuel pump issues. Still, it was a solid hauler otherwise, so I still recommend looking into issues before you seal the deal. Just gotta keep an eye out, ya know?
