Mazda CX-5 versus VW Tiguan: Which is the better SUV?

Okay, so I’ve been driving both the Mazda CX-5 and the VW Tiguan and thought I’d share my two cents. The Mazda CX-5 is super zippy. Fun to drive, even in the city. I remember one time I was navigating through traffic and it felt like my little buddy just danced through all those cars. But Tiguan is spacious, good for road trips with friends, got the extra seats.

And the Tiguan has this techy dashboard, makes it feel like a spaceship on wheels. One time took it out to the mountains, felt so sturdy on those twisty roads. CX-5’s got the sharper looks but size-wise, Tiguan has more room, you know? Which do you prefer when it comes to looks, or is it more about space?

It’s odd how the Tiguan was quieter than expected. But the CX-5 felt smoother. Can’t decide which one I like more. What about you, what’s more important to you in an SUV?

I’ve seen the Mazda CX-5 and VW Tiguan on the streets around Toronto and gotta say, both are solid. When I test-drove the CX-5, it just felt smoother, more sporty with that signature Mazda feel, like the driving dynamics were on point. The Tiguan’s more spacious and comfy, but I think the Mazda’s handling gives it the upper edge for an urban adventure. Both are top-notch, but the CX-5 had me hooked right away.

I’ve owned both in Canada—Mazda CX-5’s handling’s slick but the VW Tiguan’s space & ruggedness win for family trips. Mazda’s nippy, but when packing gear for the Rockies, Tiguan’s room’s king. Tough choice!

I’ve driven both the Mazda CX-5 and the VW Tiguan pretty extensively around Canada. The Mazda feels light, zippy but I’ve gotta say, the handling’s super sharp n’ fun to drive. The Tiguan’s more like a comfy box on wheels, spacious interior, and easy on the road. For long trips, the VW’s got the edge but for thrill and twisty roads, the Mazda’s my pick. Both got their pros, can’t go wrong but gotta consider what you’re after. :sunglasses::red_car:

I’ve been driving my Mazda CX-5 up here in Ontario for a couple years now, and it’s been solid, especially with the all-wheel drive in winter. Got a buddy who swears by his VW Tiguan, though, saying it’s comfy and roomy. Both are decent in a pinch, but the CX-5 feels a bit sportier to me. Guess it depends on what you prioritize in an SUV, ya know?

I once test-drove both the Mazda CX-5 and VW Tiguan in Toronto. The CX-5 felt snappier, like it had some mad handling skills. VW’s Tiguan, tho, offered a roomy cabin and quiet ride. Both are solid SUVs, but for me, the CX-5 won with that sporty vibe, particularly through winding roads. Had a blast with both!

I’ve been driving the Mazda CX-5 in NYC for a few months, and it’s been a smooth ride - really handles traffic well. I’ve heard the VW Tiguan is solid but hasn’t had a chance to test drive one yet; folks tell me it’s comfy though. The CX-5’s engine choice and fuel efficiency tilt my choice towards it. Tried both though here in Canada, it’s a tough call! In my garage, it’z definitely the Mazda though!

Having driven both here in Canada, the Mazda CX-5 feels more spacious, smoother ride, and handles better than the VW Tiguan. Slid around corners like it’s on rails, man. The Tiguan’s practical but feels a bit stiff. CX-5 wins for me!

Living in Canada, I’ve gotta say the Mazda CX-5’s handling is top-notch on icy roads. I’ve test-driven the VW Tiguan and it’s comfy, but the CX-5’s got that zippy feel. It’s a close call! Both great options.

I’ve been torn between the Mazda CX-5 and VW Tiguan here in Vancouver. The CX-5 gives me that fun drive vibe, like it’s meant for chill road trips, ya know? While I’ve driven the Tiguan, it’s a bit more rigid but smoother in grip. I’ve gotta give props to both, each has its own cool edge - CX-5 for the soul, Tiguan for the steady ride. Definitely a head-scratcher.

Driving a Mazda CX-5 in Canada winters was a game-changer, slick handling on icy roads no joke. But, I’ve seen the VW Tiguan in sunny California, surprisingly nimble even on sand. Each SUV’s got its charm, but where u live matters. It’s all about how each handle’s daily grind and unexpected stunts. Tbh, it’s a realer close battle than u’d think.

Driving through Alberta last summer, I had the chance to compare the Mazda CX-5 and VW Tiguan. I’ve gotta say, the CX-5’s handling was solid—felt nimble even on those twisty roads. The Tiguan, though, was more spacious for road trips. Both have strong safety features, but I leaned towards that Mazda vibe—a bit sportier and sleeker. Hard to choose, but thought that CX-5 rocks!

I’ve had both the Mazda CX-5 and VW Tiguan on the road here in Toronto. The CX-5’s handling totally rocks, more zing to it, urm, it feels sporty without being wannabe luxury. Plus, great MPG too. Tiguan’s comfy but lacks that zing, felt more like a cushy ride. CX-5 for the win, in my view.

I’ve been driving in sunny California, always torn between the Mazda CX-5 and VW Tiguan. The Mazda’s handling’s slick, feels like a sports car in disguise. Tiguan’s space kicks everyone in my family’s butt, tho. Diesel for Tivan’s great! Both pack great tech. CX-5 edges for me in style n’ agility, but it’s a dead heat. Snazzy rides both ways!

I’ve driven both the Mazda CX-5 and the VW Tiguan up here in Vancouver, and lemme tell ya, it’s a tough call. The CX-5 is handling like a dream, super nimble and surprisingly quiet. But the Tiguan’s roomy and has that fancy all-wheel drive. Honestly, both are solid, but if I had to pick, it’s more ‘it depends’ on what you need. The CX-5 for zipping around town and Tiguan for family road trips, ya know. Both definitely got game!

I’ve been drivin’ around Yellowstone with my CX-5, ngl it handles those rugged terrains like a champ. But, when I saw a Tiguan in Toronto, it looked so slick. Sometimes the CX-5 drivetrain feels stronger but, oh man, the Tiguan’s nav system rocks. Both have their perks!

Lived near LA, saw both. Mazda CX-5’s handling’s tight, feels sporty. VW Tiguan’s spacious, but plodding. CX-5’s more fun for twisty roads, Tiguan’s good for hauling gear. Guess it’s taste—engine feel vs. room.

You? Think cx5 rules on tracks or tiguan’s packin’ the load? Ready for offroad? :red_car::dash:

I’ve roadtripped with both the Mazda CX-5 and VW Tiguan all over Canada, and gotta say, the CX-5’s got that extra zing for me—I’m talkin’ better handling and fuel efficiency. The Tiguan’s comfy and has more cargo space, but the CX-5’s design and steering feel just tight, man. For city and highway vibes, the Mazda wins, imo, but it’s a close race. Seen some daily drivers switchin’ too!

Back in Canada, I went head-to-head with a CX-5 and a Tiguan. CX-5 had me smitten with its fun drive factor—totally zippy. Tiguan felt more spacious, though. If I had to choose one, it’d be Mazda for the thrilling rides but VW for family trips. Both kick ass, can’t go wrong with either!

I’ve been cruisin’ in the suburbs of Toronto and had a chance to test drive both the Mazda CX-5 and VW Tiguan. The CX-5’s got a smooth ride and feels like it’s dancing on the road, while the Tiguan’s interior screams more luxury. It’s a tough call, but my gut says the CX-5 edges it out for me!
