Is a honda civic certified pre owned worth the investment?

So i got this friend who bought a honda civic certified pre owned a couple of years back and honestly, it’s been a decent ride. it was cheaper than buying new but had all the perks of being almost like new. maintenance is similar to what you’d expect with a new car but of course it has a bit more wear and tear.

Was it worth it? overall yeah. but then again it’s kinda like buying second-hand clothes they look new but are not quite new, you know? I remember my buddy telling me how the car dealer almost tricked him into getting a non-certified one and he was like no thanks, i want the certified thing. still, they told him all the little issues beforehand, so he knew what he was getting into.

but also does the certified pre-owned satus give you peace of mind or is it just marketing? and does it make sense to pay a bit more than a regular used car just for that? tell me what you think, or if you’ve had similar experiences with a certified ride
