so i was at my buddy’s place the other day, and we figured out how to swap the battery in a 2013 ford escape key fob. first, we popped open this tiny pinhole on the key fob. and did you know the battery is kinda like tiny watch batteries? yup, that’s it.
i used a small screwdriver to push the little metal pin out gently. then, i pulled the back off the fob and took out the old battery. but here’s the thing - make sure you put it in the right way.
i put in a new battery and popped the back on before pressing the pin back in place. my car was happy again, but do you think i’ll forget how next time? maybe.
anyone else ever do that or stumble over which direction the battery goes? also, any tricks to keep track of the fob’s back cover?
