so my 2001 rav4’s windshield washer just stopped working, like one day it was fine, and the next it was like “nah”. I tried topping off the fluid, but it still refused to spray. feels like a bad breakup, right?
I ended up checking the fuse, and guess what? It was blown. replaced that and thought I was a genius for a second. but then, nothing.
have you had this happen? any other tricks to try? I could really use some help here.
I had a similar issue with my 2000 RAV4 last winter in Oregon.
I found the pump under the hood was the culprit.
Replaced it with a new one and it worked like a charm.
Hope you get yours fixed soon. Mine needed some love too.
I once had a rinse issue on my 2001 RAV4 out in Ontario and it was super annoying. Turns out it was just a clogged nozzle.
I’ve found cleaning that little spray thing helps a ton. Just takes a bit of patience sorta like fixing life’s little annoyances.
Ive had similar issues with my 2001 RAV4 back in Michigan last winter the washer fluid just stopped squirting out one day.
Turns out it was just a clogged nozzle simple fix with a pin.
But I think sometimes it could be the pump that goes bad who knows.
At least now I keep an eye on it especially during mud season.
had a similar issue last winter in Seattle I ve learned checking the fluid is key then maybe a clog in the nozzle
I had a similar issue with my Rav 4 a few years back in New York and it was super frustrating. After checking the fluid I realized it was just a clogged nozzle. A simple fix with a pin did the trick.
Hope you get yours going soon
Ive been there with my old RAV 4 too in Michigan driving through slushy winters and suddenly no washer fluid. I found that the pump can get clogged so I tried blowing air through the line and it worked like magic.
Check your fuse too I had one burn out once and that was the issue.
I ran into the same thing with my 2001 RAV4 last winter in Michigan the fluid just stopped spraying out one day. I took a look at the pump and it was totally clogged. Cleaning it made a world of difference.
Some days I wish cars just had simple buttons instead of all these issues. I’m no mechanic but I figured a little patience goes a long way when you’re tinkering under the hood.
I remember my friend tried fixing his RAV4 washer in Seattle and ended up spraying water everywhere. I’ve had my own mishaps with that too. Just check the pump first that’s usually the culprit.
Had a similar issue with my 2003 RAV4 in Canada last winter. The motor was shot. I just replaced it and now it sprays like a champ. I’ve saved so much time. Good luck.
I ve had similar issues with mine in Toronto I just replaced the pump and it worked like a charm now it sprays perfectly
I remember when my RAV4’s washer quit in the middle of a rainstorm in Seattle I was like great just great.
So I was poking around under the hood and I found the fuse was blown. Replaced it and boom back in business.
But honestly if it keeps acting up it might be time to check the pump or hoses. Fun times ahead.

I ve tried checking the fuse and it worked for me.
Just pull up the manual and follow the steps it’s simpler than you think.
