so, I’ve been thinking about how to make my Model Y Performance more like the Long Range version. it’s kind of funny because I didn’t even know how easy it could be. I mean, I was just trying to squeeze out more miles.
I started by driving slower. like, really slow. going 60 instead of 80 made a huge diff. But, do you really wanna drive that slow all the time? it feels like watching paint dry sometimes.
Also, I learned about putting it in chill mode. helps with battery life, but it’s not like you can race anyone. do you think that’s worth it? I guess it depends on your vibe.
I’ve been in San Francisco and my Model Y Performance drinks juice like a fish. Tried extending range with tire pressure tweaks. It helped but still feels like a treadmill at times. Curious if others have found magic fixes.
Ive been driving my Model Y Performance around Seattle and I gotta say it eats up the battery pretty fast if you push it. I found that dialing back the acceleration and switching to chill mode made a huge difference.
Also I’ve played with the tire pressures which kinda helps but not by much honestly. Some folks swear by controlling your climate settings too which has worked a bit for me.
Just watching the range keep creeping up is oddly satisfying.
I remember when I swapped my Model Y Performance in California I thought it was impossible to get Long Range. It’s all about those tire pressures and maybe reducing speed on highways.
I’ve seen folks say software updates help too just gotta be patient.
oh man I’ve been wondering about this too living in California the range on my Model Y is pretty solid but sometimes I just want that little extra I ve heard software tweaks can help out with that maybe lowering the tires a bit too
I have a Model Y Performance in California and I find the range decent but always wishing for more when road tripping up the coast. Lowering tire pressure and driving more conservatively seems to help a bit. Some say software tweaks can extend range too but I haven’t tried that. Anyone else had luck?
I ve owned a Model Y Performance in California for a while now and honestly the thought of converting it to Long Range is intriguing.
I’ve heard some folks tweaking the software can help but I wonder if it really makes a difference.
Maybe just driving more conservatively can do the trick too. Would love to see if others have had success with this too.
I’ve got a friend in California who tried this. He swapped out the wheels for efficiency ones and claims to have seen a difference.
But honestly I don’t know if it was just wishful thinking.
If you really want to make the Model Y go longer just reduce weight and keep it chill on the pedal.
That said I’d miss the thrill of performance driving for sure.
I ve thought about this lots in San Francisco always wanted more range in my Model Y haha
Maybe downsize the wheels would help?
I’ve heard changing your driving habits helps a lot I drove from Seattle to California and saved so much battery by being chill on the throttle
I also think swapping out those performance tires could do wonders I gave it a shot on my Tesla and felt an instant difference
I’ve been driving my Model Y Performance around Denver and honestly I feel like I’m wasting the power sometimes. Swapping out the wheels helped a bit but the range is still not great for my road trips. I’ve noticed lowering speeds on highways really makes a difference.
I have a friend who did a software tweak and claims he saw some gains. If only Tesla would make it easier to switch modes on the fly.
I ve owned my Model Y Performance in California for a year now and honestly the range has always been a concern. If you want to extend it maybe consider reducing acceleration settings and keep tire pressure optimal. It makes a diff for sure.
Also I have found avoiding full charge helps a lot too.
Ive been in the Bay Area and my Model Y Performance drains fast on long trips. Swapping to Long Range sounds tempting but will it really help?
Not sure if the trade off in performance is worth it. That instant torque is addictive like candy at midnight. Sorry Long Range fans.
So I’ve been driving my Model Y Performance in Vancouver for a while now and always thought about converting it to long range. I found a few tricks like lowering the tire pressure a bit and tweaking the regen settings. I have noticed a little bump in efficiency. It definitely gives me a better sense of reaching that next supercharger so much easier. The wait can get real.
I ve been driving my Model Y Performance in San Francisco for a while now and it’s great but I miss the range sometimes.
There’s gotta be a way to tweak the software or even change driving habits I’ve heard some people lower their speed and it helps a ton.
Honestly not sure how much I’d lose on performance though.
I ve been thinkin about this a lot since I live in California and love road trips Its tough to get that extra range without sacrificing speed
I ve heard some folks say just adjust your driving style and keep it chill lets be real tho who wants to drive slow all the time
I ve always thought about how to stretch out my Model Y Performance it feels like a racing horse trapped in a pasture here in Colorado.
Maybe just tweak the driving habits and forget about those drag races.
I ve been thinking about this a lot since I got my Model Y Performance in California it’s fun but the range drives me bonkers sometimes.
Maybe just tuning the battery settings could help who knows
