Does Acura require premium gas for optimal performance?

hey everyone, been thinkin bout my acura and whether it absolutely needs premium gas for optimal performance. i drive a 2010 RL, and when i first got it, i was told premium was best. and tbh, i used it for a while. my fuel economy felt decent, and the engine seemed to purr like usual. but then i started thinking why it has to be premium, ya know? i switched to regular once, and honestly, didn’t notice big difference. maybe it was placebo?

but some folks swear by premium for better mileage and smoother operation. have u tried both at any point? i mean, if it runs fine, is it really worth the extra cash? another thing is, does anyone hear any engine knock or any weird sounds when they stick to regular? my acura doesn’t seem to have any issues, and i’m thinking of going back to regular. but yeah, maybe i’m missing something? let me know what u think!

I’ve got an Acura in Toronto and always use premium but honestly, it runs fine on regular too. Btw, I experienced no lag or power loss. Friends swear on staying with premium, while others say ‘save your bucks’, I’ve found it’s kinda spot on regardless! Worth your thoughts.

I have a 2018 Acura TLX, and when I first got it here in Toronto, I was puzzled about using premium gas. I mean, does it really make that big a difference? After giving both gas types a shot, I’ve noticed smoother shifts with premium—I guess you get what you pay for! My buddy argues it’s all a scam, but so far, premium’s kept my ride purring like a kitten. Who knows, right?

I’ve got an Acura MDX in Toronto, and lemme tell ya, it’s definitely a premium-only ride. Once tried regular gas and the engine purred like a lion – not good. I get people wanna save a few bucks, but if you wanna keep that smooth ride and longevity, go premium. Just learned that the hard way when I thought spending a bit extra wasn’t worth it. Wouldn’t risk that stunt again. Better safe when it’s your wheels we’re talking about, yeah?

I’ve got an Acura in Pittsburgh, and yep, it insists on premium gas. Always more responsive and smooth running that way, feels like it hits a new high. My buddy with a similar model in Toronto agrees—premium gas is the secret sauce. Kept it purring like a kitten for years. No trade-offs, just gains.

In Canada, I’ve always used premium gas in my Acura. Noticed smoother acceleration, feels like the ride’s sharper, ya know? My buddy, though, uses regular in his and claims no big difference. Maybe city driving, eh? Either way, sticking to premium’s my jam, especially when hitting the highway. Keeps my ride purring like a kitten! Everyone seems to have their take, which makes Hyundai variety interesting, huh? :red_car::sparkles:

I have a buddy in Toronto who swears by feeding his Acura premium gas. Says it’s like eats at a fine diner vs fast food—better performance, smoother ride. I don’t need premium, but after paying for premium, I haven’t felt much diff. It’s all subjective, I guess, but ain’t nothing wrong with trying, right? Maybe it’s the air quality or somethin’. Anyone else try? Your thoughts would be lit!

In Seattle though, I have to admit I go premium for my Acura. It’s supposed to keep the engine running smoother, ya know? Friends who stick to regular say their ride still works, but I’ve noticed Acura just feels more, I dunno, responsive? Performance’s gotta be optimal, right? Plus, I got peace of mind!

I’ve driven my Acura in Los Angeles for years and gotta say, premium gas ain’t just a suggestion, it’s a must for keeping that engine purring. Once got cheapo gas and my ride felt sluggish, like it was dragging its feet. Seriously, boosting that octane keeps it smooth and shreddin’ the highway. You don’t wanna risk the turbo catching hell, ya know? So yeah, my Acura laughs in the face of regular and chooses premium every time!

In my neck of the woods in Ontario, I’ve always used premium with my Acura TL. It’s like the car knows! Gets purring smoother, I tell ya. My buddy kept tryin’ regular and swear I could smell the difference. It’s eatin’ up more gas though—but hey, performance right? Few dropped gears here and there just ain’t worth it to me. Performance be king!
