hey guys, just wondering if anyone’s done a coilover install on a model y and what it cost ya. I just did mine last month, and man, it was a bit of a project. the parts were around $1,200, but then add in the labor cost if you’re not DIYing it.
But I thought I could save cash and do it myself. Spoiler alert: I didn’t. Took me a whole Saturday, and let’s just say my neighbors had some interesting things to say seeing me struggle.
So, how much did y’all pay for labor if you went that route? and was it worth it? I mean, the ride is smoother now, but my back could use a break after all that.
I just did my coilovers last month in Chicago and it cost me about 2 grand. I’ve gotta say it was worth it for the handling.
I was surprised by how easy it was but u definitely need a friend. The ride feels so much sportier now.
I’ve heard coilover installs can get pricey around here in California like $1500 with labor but totally worth it for the ride quality.
I have a buddy who did it himself and spent way less but it took forever.
I installed coilovers on my Model Y last month here in California and it cost me about 1500 bucks at a local shop. The ride feels way better now way more responsive. I’ve heard mixed reviews tho some say it’s a bit rougher.
But honestly I think the handling is worth the trade-off. Just make sure to do your research on the right brand coz not all coilovers are created equal.
I’ve heard of people paying around 2000 to 3000 in California but it totally depends on the shop and what parts they use.
I paid like 2500 in Texas last year. Not cheap but worth the ride quality.
I ve got a Model Y and did the coilover install last summer in California for about 1800 total. Not gonna lie it was a bit of a headache but the handling is way better now.
Plus I love how it sits with that lower stance. Just make sure you budget extra for any unexpected things that might pop up during the install.
I ve just done it in Toronto for around 2000 CAD
Kinda pricey but the ride is way better now
My friend spent a bit less in Vancouver but he did it himself
Seems like location really matters when it comes to labor costs
I ve looked into this and in my case in California it was around 1200 bucks for the installation. Definitely worth it for the improved handling.
I have a buddy who did it himself so he saved a ton but not everyone wants to go that route.
I’ve done a coilover install on my Model Y in Ohio and it cost around 2k at a local shop they did a solid job but man it took a whole day
I have to say the difference in handling is worth it but just be ready to spend some cash
I’ve done coilovers on my Model Y here in California cost me around $2k that included install and alignment. Feels more sporty but bumps are killer sometimes.
Had a buddy in Texas who got it done for cheaper he swears by it but I’m not convinced. Worth it if ya like tight handling but just saying it’s not a smooth ride.
I did my Model Y coilovers in California and it ran me about 1500 including labor.
Wasn’t too bad actually but yeah the adjustment takes some time to get right. I’ve heard some people pay a lot more though so just be ready for surprises.
Seems worth it for the ride quality.
I ve seen a range from like 1200 to 2500 depending on where you go I’m in California and they wanted a pretty penny for labor too lol.
Definitely a cool upgrade but pricey.

I ve done coilovers on my Model Y in San Diego cost me around 1.5k at a decent shop
the ride feels much better but honestly I think its a bit stiffer than expected
if ur into handling then go for it
and make sure to get alignment after
I did mine in San Diego and it was around 2k but worth it for the handling upgrade. I’ve heard cheaper options but who knows how good they are. Just love how it feels now.
I’ve been thinking about the coilover upgrade for my Y here in Connecticut cost me around 2k at a local shop. They were pretty cool but the whole thing took a couple of days. Gotta love the ride at the end though.
I ve heard some people getting it done for less but it really depends on the shop. Definitely worth it if you’re into handling and custom feel.
I recently installed coilovers on my Model Y over in Colorado it ran me about 1800 total including labor.
The ride is so much better than stock so I’d say it’s worth the investment.
I had a friend who did a DIY and saved some cash but ended up with a squeak here and there so guess it’s a trade off.
Just be prepared for some tweakin.
I ve done the coilover setup on my Model Y last summer in California the shop charged me about 1500 bucks with alignment
It transformed the ride quality so much better handling now but man the install was a pain took almost 6 hours in the heat
Definitely worth it if you love the sporty feel though
I ve done a coilover install on my Model Y in California it was around 1200 bucks not including alignment. Definitely worth it for the handling though.

I’ve installed coilovers on my Model Y in California. Cost me around $1500 including labor. The ride feels awesome now but kinda bumpy on rough roads. Just something to keep in mind if you’re looking for a smooth drive.
Heard they might get pricey if you don’t DIY. Just saying
