Why is my Toyota Highlander check engine light on?

I’ve got a 2010 Highlander and, upstate NY here, the check engine light popped up outta nowhere. My buddy said it’s probably the O2 sensor; his popped twice this month. Sheesh! Seems like these things have minds of their own, right? Just had it checked, and they found a loose gas cap—that one took the edge off the panic! :upside_down_face: Guess it’s the little things that bother us. Weird how something so simple can worry you.

I’ve got a buddy in Vancouver with a Toyota Highlander whose check engine light kept popping on. Girly ride, right? He checked it out & turns out it was a loose gas cap! Super annoying until u figure it out. Moral: always check the simple stuff before you freak out over the fancy diagnostics!

Just got hit with my Toyota Highlander’s check engine light turnin’ on last month here in Toronto. I’ve been fixin’ cars since forever, but this got me worried, you know? Pulled up to my buddy’s garage for a look, and he says it’s just the oxygen sensor. Turned out to be an easy swap. Always a relief when it’s not something wild, ya know? Running smooth again!

I’ve got a Toyota Highlander upstate NY, and last week my check engine light just came on outta nowhere. Thought maybe I drove through a puddle, but it stayed on. I’ve checked the codes and it’s something about the oxygen sensor. Super annoying, especially when you think everything’s fine and bam! Lights up! Anyone else? Would love to hear y’all’s fixes or stories!

I’ve had it happen with my Highlander too! Living in Ohio, it gets super dusty here in the fall, and I was like, ‘why is this check engine light on again?’ Just took it to the shop, and it turned out to be a vacuum hose issue. Never really noticed how quick those little things can let you down. Just another day driving a Highlander. Keep on truckin’ and hope it’s nothing big for y’all!

Living in sunny Florida, I’ve had my Highlander’s check engine light pop up a bunch. Always a headache, guess it was time for my transmission fluid to be swapped! It saves a bunch of sad trips to the shop – definitely a lesson learned. Been trying to keep tabs now!
