so my 2005 f150 starts shaking like it’s doing a little dance when I hit 65 mph. it’s like the truck has its own ideas about speed limits or something. at first, I thought maybe it was just me being paranoid, but then my buddy felt it too.
I read somewhere the tires might be outta balance or some suspension thing. But honestly, it could just be the truck saying “slow down, buddy.” has anyone else dealt with this? did you fix it easily or was it a whole saga of parts and waiting? I’m kinda lost here.
I ve got a 2005 F150 too and I remember driving down I-20 in Texas when it started shaking like it was dancing.
Could be the tires or alignment just saying it drove me nuts for ages
driving my 2005 f150 in Michigan it started shaking at 65mph I thought it was the tires I’ve heard balancing fixes that I’ve been meaning to check that out tho
gotta say it can be nerve-wracking other drivers look at you funny like bro I don’t wanna shake at this speed 웃
I had a similar issue with my 2004 F150 driving through Ohio at 65 mph. Turned out it was just the tires not balanced properly. Shaking can be super annoying but an easy fix.
Sometimes I ve felt like the whole truck was gonna shake apart but it was just simple adjustments needed. Always check those wheels first.
I had a similar issue with my 2003 F150 driving through the backroads of Ohio. It started shaking around that speed and I thought it was the tires. Turns out the alignment was way off.
If you haven’t had that checked it might be worth a look. Glad I did otherwise I’d still be swerving all over.
I ve had a similar issue with my 2004 f150 in Michigan the shaking freaked me out thought it was the tires or alignment turns out it was just the driveshaft needing a little attention really annoying when it happens at those speeds though
I ve been there man driving my 2004 F150 up in the mountains of Colorado and it start shaking like it was trying to dance or something. Feels like a flat tire or alignment issue honestly.
Check those tires or maybe your balance could be off could save you a headache later.
I ve got a 2005 F150 too and that shake at 65 is a pain in the neck. Driving on the highways in Colorado last summer I thought I was gonna lose my coffee. It turned out my tires were outta balance.
A quick fix but still annoying especially when you’re trying to enjoy the drive. My buddy said check out the front end components just in case so I did that too.
I’ve had my 2005 F150 since high school in Wisconsin and man that shake at 65 mph is wild. I remember cruising down the highway one time thinking the whole truck was falling apart. It might be the tires or maybe alignment since it happens mostly on highways. Kinda scary but also makes for a funny story. Just gotta keep it under 60 sometimes. Not the best but still love my truck.
I ve had the same issue with my 2005 F150 last summer in California driving on the highway it shook like crazy.
Probably just wheel balancing or alignment but man it was annoying. Glad I’m not alone in this shaking club.
man I had a 2005 F150 that shook like crazy at 65 in California it was wild could’ve sworn the wheels were gonna fall off
check your tires or alignment I ve seen that fix it instantly sometimes its just a little balancing or worn out parts crazy how it works like that
I ve had that shake issue on my 2006 F150 in New York too its like driving a blender at 65 not fun at all I just had to check the tires and alignment tho
Ive had a similar issue with my old F150 in Texas. Drives smooth until that speed and then it feels like a mini earthquake. Might be the tires or alignment.
Always a hassle but manageable. Try rotating the tires or checking the balance. I swear all trucks have their quirks like that.
Had a similar shake on my 2004 F150 when I hit 65 around Toronto. Felt like a mini earthquake inside. I thought it’d be my tires but turns out it was just alignment issues. I ve heard it’s pretty common with these trucks.
My buddy had a 2005 F150 that shook like crazy at 65 mph when we were cruising through Ontario. He kept telling me it was the tires but I thought it was just part of the experience. I ve seen a lot of these trucks do the same thing.
Ive had a similar issue with my buddy’s 2005 F150 driving through Oregon the steering wheel vibrated like crazy at 65 mph it was kinda scary but he just needed new tires.
Now its smooth as butter
Ive had similar issues with my 2006 in California. It’s not always a fun ride. I think it could be tire balance or alignment but who knows. Just feels strange on the highway sometimes.
I ve had a similar thing happen with my 2006 F150 up in Montana. It was crazy felt like it wanted to take off at 65.
I found out it was just a balance issue with my tires dude so annoying.
I don’t know if that’s the same for you but leveling out the wheels made a huge difference for me. Good luck sorting it out that’s the most frustrating feeling while driving.
I remember my buddy in Michigan had a 2005 F150 it shook like crazy at 65 mph too we thought it was a flat tire or something silly. Turns out it was the alignment messing with him.
I ve heard that balancing the tires can help too or those worn out shocks. Good luck with it.
I drove my 2005 F150 through the hills of California and it started shaking at 65 mph too. I have noticed it could be bad tires or alignment issues. I mean scary for a truck like that. Just a wild ride right. Hope you figure it out.
