when should I schedule an engine valve adjustment for honda civic 2014?

so, here’s the deal. last summer, my 2014 Honda Civic started making this weird ticking noise. at first, i thought it was my friend who always borrows my car and never puts the seat back. but turns out it was the valves that needed some love.

i looked it up, and it said you should get the valve adjustment done every 30,000 miles or so. But like, who even remembers that? i kinda just go by ear, you know?

if you’re hearing weird sounds, it might be time to get it checked, or maybe just tell your buddy to stop slamming the door. has anyone else dealt with this issue? when did you guys have to do yours? just trying to figure out if my Civic is aging like fine wine or just turning into vinegar.

I ve got a 2014 Civic too and I did my valve adjustment around 100k miles. Felt smoother after. My buddy in Texas said he waited till 130k and noticed a bit of rattling. Location really matters I think. Def keep an eye on that mileage though.

My buddy in Michigan did his after feeling a weird noise and it turned out it was way overdue. Definitely better to keep an ear out cause those valves can be picky. Just my two cents really.
