so i just changed the trans fluid on my 2008 Nissan Altima. used the regular Nissan trans fluid ATF WS. the tranny’s been smooth all week. people say you can use Dexron III too. anyone used that? works the same? my buddy used some other brand last time but it was a mess. he said it smelt weird and the shift felt off after a few days. but hey, not everyone’s a pro, right? are you sticking with brand names or trying new stuff? any mishaps i should know about?
and one more thing, i heard some folks run synthetic. thoughts? worth it?
I’ve got an '08 Altima in Toronto and been through a bunch of transmission fluids. Always stuck with Dextron VI—it’s smooth sailing every time! Just gotta slap in some firewall protection too. Heard friends swear by others, but nothing tops Dex in my book. Gotta keep that tranny purring like new! Switching it out regularly, plus it never quits on me!
In nyc, I’ve had great results switching to Redline synthetic transmission fluid for my '08 Altima. Boosted smoothness and gear shifting, no issues at all. Y’all should try it!
I’ve been tinkering with my '08 Nissan Altima in North Carolina for years, and I always go for the ATF+4 transmission fluid. Heard it’s top-notch for smooth shifts and it keeps my transmission in tip-top shape. None of those generic options for me; this one works like a charm, especially in the southern heat. Always stick to the recommended one 'cause trust me, it saves ya from trouble down the road. It’s been a game-changer since day one, hands down!
I had my 02 in Michigan, and honestly, I’ve always stuck with Nissan’s own 0W-20 full synthetic. It runs smooth like butter and handles Minnesota snows just fine! Staying factory ensures no surprises, ya know?

I’ve had a 2008 Nissan Altima for years here in Cali, and I swear by Valvoline MaxLife Synthetic. Smooth like butter, keeps the gears happy. Friends from up north in Toronto reckon it’s solid too! No fry-ups during my drives, so it’s a win for me. Always keeps it cool, no matter the weather up or down. Stick with synth, folks!
In Toronto, I’ve always used Dexron VI for my 2008 Nissan Altima. Been smooth as silk every shift – can’t go wrong with it! Perfect for rough winters.
I’ve got this charming 2008 Nissan Altima in Boston, and doing its tranny fluid like clockwork keeps it purring. Always grab Toyota TranSport at the parts store—runs smooth as peanut butter. Peeked at the manual too, and it says ATF+3’s ace. Swap every 30k miles, and she shifts slick as ever. Y’all seem to agree, right? Nothing beats quality fluid in these classic rides!
In Chicago, I had mine changed to Dexron VI once, and the shifter felt smoother than ever. It keeps my 2008 Altima solving like a dream, and I haven’t looked back! Always check with techies in the area too.
In Buffalo, I ve got a buddy who swears by Honda Transmax for his '08 Altima. He says it runs super smooth, like butter. Been using it for years now, no issues at all! Might be worth checking out if you prefer sticking with what’s tried and true. Just my two cents!
For my 2008 Nissan Altima back in sunny California, I’ve always gone with the Nissan Original Equipment Transmission Fluid (O.E.T.F.). It worked wonders, kept everything running smooth. Friends in Toronto recommend it too. My mechanic swears by it, says it’s top-notch for keeping the gears slick. Have you heard anything different?
I’ve got this 2008 Altima in Phoenix, Arizona, and I’ve always used 0W-20 full synthetic. Swapped oils when needed, runs smoother than buttered popcorn, perfect for our hot summers here. Keeps it purring!
Living in Ontario, I had to change my '08 Altima’s fluid. Went for Dextron VI, worked great — slick as ever after the swap. I’ve heard hella mixed stuff 'bout mixing grades, but stick to what the manual says, won’t steer ya wrong. Personal choice, but that Dex was dyn-o-mite!
I swear, living in Cleveland, dealing with harsh winters just messes with your Altima like nothing else. I’ve been using Mopar Synthetic ATF+4 for my '08, and it’s been real smooth. Got me through snow and rain without a hitch! Saves me a trip to the mechanic, plus it’s prolly the best bang for your buck. So glad I found this stuff, been a real lifesaver!
In Toronto, I’ve swapped in fully synthetic Nissan Original Equipment Warranted ATF-F for my '08 Altima and it’s been smooth sailing. Always best stick with manufacturer specs, you know? Plus, synthetic usually lasts longer, setting you up for fewer trips to the mechanic. Trust me on this!
I’ve lived in Toronto for years and just took my ‘08 Nissan Altima in for an oil change. The mechanic swore by 10W-30 transmission fluid – said it keeps the gears slippery smooth. Seemed legit, so I went with it. Always trust the pros, ya know? Plus, it’s been purrin’ ever since!
Just swapped the transmission fluid on my '08 Altima here in Seattle. Went with Dexron VI cause it’s what Nissan recommends, and man, it’s made a real difference! I’ve noticed smoother shifts and no more weird sputters on the highway. Always make sure you’re using the right type, folks. Gives me peace of mind knowing it’s all cool with the car. Nothing like that classic runn’n vibe!
I’ve got an '08 Nissan Altima here in Cleveland, and I swear by Dex-Cool transmission fluid. Heard tales from a buddy up in Toronto about their car running silky smooth after switching. Just gotta make sure it’s Dex-Cool synthetic blend for longevity, especially since they replaced the old Dex-Cool after a bad batch hit 'em a while back. Always best to keep things updated, you know? Really rolled into my routine, like coffee in the morning!
