What type of transfer case oil is needed for 2019 rav4 xle premium?
So, I was tinkering with my 2019 RAV4 XLE Premium the other day. You know how it is, one minute you’re just looking to change the oil, and then boom, you get sucked into the world of transfer case maintenance. I started wondering if I even knew what transfer case oil was. I mean, does everybody even think about that when they buy a car?
But after a bit of digging, I found out that this baby needs specific oil. Apparently, it likes something called “Toyota Genuine Transfer Case Oil” or equivalent. Who knew it was so picky? It’s like having a high-maintenance puppy, right?
Just curious, has anyone else dealt with this? Did you just wing it or follow the manual like a good little car owner? It’s wild how much we take for granted till something goes wrong.
I remember when I first got my 2019 RAV4 in Toronto and was a bit lost about the transfer case oil.
I found out it needs the Toyota Genuine Transfer Case Oil which is 75W-90.
Make sure ya check that before doing any maintenance. It works great for handling the winter roads up here in Canada.
Ive always thought picking the right transfer case oil is like choosing a good coffee in Seattle hard but necessary I used synthetic gear oil for mine and it worked fine
Hope that helps anyone looking for a simple fix
I found out you need Dexron III for mine but it can be tricky finding the right one in stores
I ve had times where I just grabbed whatever thinking it would work totally not the way to go honestly
I’ve got a 2019 RAV4 XLE Premium too and I remember when I was looking for the right oil for the transfer case it felt overwhelming.
In the end I found it’s usually 75W-90 synthetic gear oil but double check the manual first. Best of luck with it.
so I have a 2019 RAV4 XLE Premium and I ve been using the 75W-90 gear oil for the transfer case I live in Colorado and it’s pretty great in both summer and winter I guess it really helps with the snowy roads
I’ve heard mixed things about what to use but my mechanic said this is the way to go so I just stick with it works for me
I ve had my 2019 RAV4 XLE Premium for a while and I found that the transfer case oil is pretty special I used 75W-90 synthetic and it works great.
Honestly I didn’t think about it till my buddy mentioned it so shoutout to him. Super important stuff to keep in mind if you wanna keep it running smooth.
I live in Michigan and my 2019 RAV4 XLE Premium is my daily driver. I’ve been using genuine Toyota transfer case oil since day one. It’s been running smooth through the snow and all but I feel like the dealership is always trying to upsell me on extra stuff.
My buddy says using synthetic would be better but I dunno about all that. Anyone else feel this way?
