What tools are needed for replacing the 2015 f150 lower dash?
so, last month I decided to tackle the lower dash on my 2015 f150. man, what a project. I thought I could just pop it off like a kid with a sticker but nope, it was a whole thing. But, hey, I learned a lot along the way.
first, you’ll need a socket set. a 10mm is the magic number for most bolts. I also used a flathead screwdriver and a Phillips head too. And, don’t forget those trim removal tools, they saved me a lot of swearing.
I was on a roll until I dropped a bolt in the abyss under the seat. ever tried fishing for a tiny metal thing in a truck? not fun. did I mention a flashlight helps too? makes it easier to find lost stuff or check if you actually put everything back.
anyone else had a wild time with this? I’m thinking of tackling other things next, like maybe the radio?
I ve done this swap before in my buddy’s F150 here in Ohio and it took forever but we basically needed a 10mm socket set maybe a flathead screwdriver and some patience
Also some clips were a pain to pop off
man replacing the lower dash on my 2015 f150 was a bit of a project I live in Michigan and it was cold out but worth it
the tools I used were a socket set Torx bits and some trim removal tools super handy
I ve watched a few YouTube videos that helped it can be tricky but once you get going its kinda fun to dive into it
Last summer I decided to tackle my buddy’s 2015 F150 lower dash in my garage in Michigan. I’ve gotta say a ratchet set and some trim removal tools are a must.
The whole thing was a real puzzle but worth it to see that new look.
just did this in my friend’s 2015 f150 pretty straightforward really I ve got a basic toolkit but you might wanna grab some trim removal tools too.
I ve tackled this before and trust me it can be a real pain in the neck. You def need basic hand tools and torx bits but patience is key too.
Living in Michigan I found the right tools but ended up breaking a clip. So just be careful if you can.
I remember swapping out my buddy’s 2015 F150 dash in his garage last summer and it was a pain but kinda fun. You’ll definitely need some basic tools like screwdrivers and maybe a ratchet set if you’re lucky.
Just make sure you have patience I ve seen some people get really frustrated with all the clips and wiring. Good luck with your project.
Ive done a lower dash swap on my F150 before and trust me you need a good ratchet set and patience.
A buddy of mine had some fun with it too in Canada few years back. You really wanna take your time or things get messy.
I ve done this swap in my 2016 F150 in Wisconsin last winter not fun. You really need a good set of socket wrenches a trim removal tool to avoid breaking clips and maybe a flashlight to see those hidden screws. It’s a bit of a puzzle but once you get going it feels rewarding.
Just be careful with the wiring harnesses I had a moment where I thought I broke something but it was just unplugged. Always an adventure with these trucks. Good luck to anyone tackling this project
