What issues can a faulty 98 honda civic manual transmission throttle body cause?
so my buddy had this 98 civic and one day it just wouldn’t go. like, he was revving it but the car was just sitting there like it was on a break. turns out, the throttle body was messed up. I mean, how does that even happen? it’s just a piece of metal, right?
but then I remembered my older car had kinda the same problem. it just felt super sluggish, and I thought it was the transmission or something. but nope, throttle body issues can make you feel like you’re driving a sloth. ever had that feeling?
And after we fixed his car, it was like getting a new ride. no more stalling or lagging. it’s wild how such a small thing can cause big headaches. anyone else had weird throttle body moments?
I ve had my 98 civic in Toronto for years its been a trooper but the throttle body started acting up recently. Acceleration was a real joke sometimes it would just drop power and feel like I was dragging a hundred pounds.
I ve heard similar stories from buddies about stalling issues and rough idling. Not fun when you just wanna cruise.
I remember my buddy’s 98 Civic in Vancouver it would stall out randomly like a bad magic trick.
It’s like the throttle body was playing hide and seek
I ve heard it can mess with RPMs too which is just annoying when you’re cruising.
Not to mention the weird acceleration issues that pop up. Fun times right
I’ve had my share of struggles with my old civic in the chilly streets of Toronto throttle body issues were a real pain.
The way it could jerk while driving was just infuriating. Definitely felt like a ticking time bomb sometimes.
I ve had a 98 civic and that throttle body was a real pain. Stalling at stoplights is no fun.
Had to clean it out a bunch of times to keep it running smooth. Noticed it affected my gas mileage too.
Ive had my 98 civic in the shop for weeks now in Toronto and its all throttle body issues its rough idling and stalling all over the place super frustrating but at least it looks good sitting there.
I have to admit I love the car but these little things really chip away at my patience like you think its fixed and then bam same problem again.
Dude I had a 98 Honda Civic in college driving around in Toronto and the throttle body went haywire it was weird. Car would stall when I slowed down or tried to accelerate. super frustrating at traffic lights. I’ve heard it can cause all sorts of weird idle issues like fluttering or just cutting out.
Not to mention the sinking feeling when merging onto the highway with a faulty throttle body. I’ve seen my fair share of people struggle with that.
I’ve had my 98 Civic in Toronto for years and the throttle body gave me some real headaches. It started stalling out at traffic lights which was so annoying.
I have noticed it eats gas like crazy too and that wasn’t cool.
I remember my buddy in Toronto having issues with his 98 Civic’s throttle body. It made the car jerk like it was trying to dance.
Throttle response got super weird and stalling was a regular thing. Annoying when you’re just trying to get to work.
Such a classic car but man it had its quirks.
I ve had my 98 Civic for years and when the throttle body was acting up I felt like I was driving a boat instead of a car
stalled so many times in the middle of traffic it was wild
had a 98 civic back in college in Canada terrible memories of it stalling at the worst times throttle body issues were a nightmare
I ve literally sat at a stoplight just praying it wouldn’t die on me again had to replace it eventually like a whole saga
it can really mess up your acceleration and fuel efficiency too not fun at all
I remember my buddy had a 98 Civic in Toronto and man that thing loved to act up with the throttle body. I ve seen it hesitate a lot at stoplights like the engine was playing hard to get. Then there were those weird RPM spikes like it was trying to dance. If it gets real bad I guess the transmission might even slip which is just what you don’t need in a manual.
I’ve dealt with my fair share of issues in a 98 Civic in Seattle.
Throttle body problems can really mess with acceleration and fuel efficiency.
Definitely a headache but I guess that’s classic Honda for ya.
