What is the civic 8th rear brake replacement cost at a shop?

so, I just took my civic in to get the 8th rear brake replaced, and man, I wasn’t ready for the bill. At the shop, it ran me about 300 bucks total. They quoted me around 200 for parts and labor, but then of course, there’s tax and stuff. Makes ya wonder if they’re charging by the hour or by the cringe, right?

But here’s the thing. A buddy of mine said he did it himself for like 100 bucks. I guess I just don’t have that vibe or tools for DIY. Anyone else try to swap out those brakes and regretted it? I mean, some things you just gotta leave for the pros, ya know?

Anyway, worth it to keep my car safe, but still stings a little.

I remember getting my Civic’s rear brakes done in Toronto it was around 300 bucks and honestly felt a bit steep but hey sometimes you just gotta do it.
