hey so im wondering what signs to look out for with a failing water pump in a 2012 chevy cruze i had my own crack up the other week. first thing i noticed was this weird noise like a whining or groaning comes from under the hood. and my coolant was leaking which is not cool. check under your car for any puddles or leaks or you might have a problem, right? my car started overheating too so i had to keep stopping to let it cool down. check your coolant level if it drops suddenly you might have a leak and the pump might be the issue. another sign is steam coming from under your hood dont ignore that its a big red flag
also, my passenger side felt warmer than usual which might be nothing but its another thing to think about. if your car isnt acing its heat up job you might wanna look into it. any of you guys had something like this happen? did i miss any signs that might be a clue when dealing with water pumps?
I’ve got a '12 Chevy Cruze here in Texas – started noticing coolant leaks and overheating last summer. Listened for a weird whining noise from under the hood – clear signs of a wobbly water pump. Heard the same from pals up in Ontario too! Had to replace mine before my Cruze turned into a puddle! Always check those belts and listen up for sounds – you won’t regret it!
I have a 2012 Chevy Cruze here in Toronto, and my engine started running hot, plus a weird noise from the front. Turns out, it was the water pump acting up. Always listen to those signs

Oh man, I’ve had a crazy ride with my 2012 Chevy Cruze here in Texas. Lately, I was noticing some weird sounds, like a whining from the front, and the temp gauge was jumping like crazy on the highway. Plus, the engine seemed to struggle sometimes, especially when idling. I had a buddy check it and guess what? The water pump was on its last leg. Ended up replacing it right before it could’ve kicked my butt. Watch out for those signs, folks!
I had a 2012 Chevy Cruze back in CA and knew my water pump was bailing when I noticed a coolant leak under the car and some odd noises coming from the front. The engine temperature gauge was through the roof, and the poor thing started overheating like there was no tomorrow. Gotta keep an eye on those signs before things go south.
I’ve had issues with mine in Toronto and it was a major headache. The Cruze started making this weird whine, and there was coolant leaking from that pulley. Plus, the car felt like it was getting hot without any warning. Definitely a bad sign if your temps start spiking like crazy. Trust me, get it checked quick before it turns into a full-blown engine party.
Got a 2012 Chevy Cruze here in Ohio, and one day, it started leaking all over. That noise, like a gnarly ticking, was the deal breaker, signaling it’s that water pump going kaput! Lesson learned, always peep at coolant levels before it overheats. If I were you, I wouldn’t hesitate to get it checked ASAP!
I’ve got a 2012 Chevy Cruze in Toronto, and it was leakin’ like crazy. Thought the hoses, but it was the water pump failing on me. So much noise too, felt like it was screamin’. Real headache! Stay vigilant, folks.
I’ve got an interesting story ‘bout my 2012 Chevy Cruze in Ohio. So, this thing would start havin’ these creepy clunkin’ noises from under the hood, then coolant started leakin’ out like crazy. Turned out the water pump was totally shot! Plus, the engine was overheatin’ more than my car’s radio! Glad to have caught it before it got worse!
Never had the issue til last winter in Maine. My 2012 Chevy Cruze started making this weird whining noise, sounded like a sad cat in the hood whenever I revved it up. Noticed some steam under the bonnet too. Felt a noticeable drop in power. Turned out my water pump was toast! Keep an eye on these signs if ya don’t want your ride going down. Just a heads up!
I’ve been noticing some weird stuff with my '12 Chevy Cruze up in Canada. Started hearing a really annoying whining noise from under the hood, especially when it’s hot out. My buddy said it was the water pump failing – oil leaks near the belt area too. He told me to keep an eye on it; I didn’t wanna be stranded in the middle of nowhere. Definitely wouldn’t wanna deal with repeating this story!
I’ve got a 2012 Chevy Cruze in Tukwila, WA, and the folks at the shop told me about the signs—overheating, weird noise from the front, and engine light on. I’ve seen the pump fail twice. Keep an ear out for those extra grumbles! Keep your Cruze running smooth, guys!
I’ve had my ‘12 Cruze in Canada, and noticed strange noises n’ leaking coolant on my last trip to the mountains. Then it started overheatin’ big time. Best to check those symptoms early! Your Cruze will thank you!
I’ve had some trouble with my '12 Chevy Cruze in Pittsburgh—got whiny noises and a helluva sweet coolant leak underneath. Then badda bing, overheating like crazy. You know it’s time for a water pump swap when your temp gauge acts like it’s on fire! Anyone else had the same headache?
Grew up in Vancouver, my '12 Chevy Cruze started shuddering once, made a whining noise, and leaked underneath. Not fun, lol! Always check those fans and belts!
