What are the pros and cons of a refurbished honda crv 1999 head?

so a while back, I decided to pick up a refurbished head for my 1999 Honda CR-V. It was kinda like dating - you hope for the best but you never really know what’s gonna happen. I mean, the thing was cheap and looked good on paper, but then again, so did my high school crush, and that didn’t end well.

the pros? Well, it was way cheaper than buying new, and I got to keep my car running longer. I felt like a hero saving the day with a wallet-friendly option. But then, some of the bolts were a little rusty, and I was like “seriously, dude?!”

And the cons? Sometimes it made weird noises like it was trying to sing or something. Ever hear a car harmonize? Yeah, not cool. Plus, I was worried if I got ripped off, you feel me? I mean, how do you even know if it’s legit?

So, anyone had better luck with refurbished parts? Or am I just cursed with my decisions?
