thinking about a suspension lift for my Ford Transit Connect, and it got me wondering what might work best. I’ve heard mixed stuff about different kits.
My buddy went with the Old Man Emu kit, and he says it’s solid. makes the ride smoother and has enough lift for those off-road adventures. however, he did mention it’s on the pricier side and a bit of a pain to install.
another option was the Ironman4x4 kit he tried before that. it was cheaper but not as comfy on rough roads.
where would you start looking? is it worth doing it yourself or better to get a pro?
i know some folks swear by air suspension lifts but they’re costly too.
i’ve seen some people chop the springs, but i don’t know if that’s a solid idea. ever tried it?
might be worth checking out some videos too, but what are your experiences? looking for something reliable without breaking the bank. let me know if you have any thoughts on this
I’ve been up in Michigan tweaking my Ford Transit Connect’s suspension, and let me tell ya, it’s a game-changer! Started with a 2-inch Rhino Rumps lift kit, and it’s solid. Smooth on bumpy roads, great for hauling. I’ve heard good things about the Rough Country kit, but went with Rhino cuz they’re super durable. It’s all about fitting the ride to your needs. So, what’s your fav? Found anything that works like a charm?
Growing up in Canada, I’ve seen lots of Transit Connects cruising around with lifts. SpringRanger and Old Man Emu kits are solid choices—they handle rough terrain like champs. Don’t swerve now or it’s a bumpy ride, ya know
Up in the cold climes of Canada, I had a few rough rides with my Ford Transit Connect. Needed a lift way before ya realized. I went with Air Lift; super adjustable, gave me that extra height no prob. And those thicker springs helped a ton. Not too pricey, too! Been solid as a rock, trust me, no sagging after a few months. Just my two cents.
