so i’ve been driving my subaru legacy for a while now and i always wonder about how many miles per gallon it gets right usually it’s like 21 mpg around the city and about 29 mpg on the highway but that’s just mine and i know it changes based on how you drive. i once drove really aggressively because i was late and it was like 18 mpg that day lol. have you had similar experiences?? anyone got better numbers?? just curious how others are doing with theirs. my buddy says regular service helps, but who knows. do you think the age of the car changes it much? might wanna see how it stacks up against other folks.
I’ve driven a Subaru Legacy in Colorado, and I normally get about 23 mpg city and 31 mpg highway. It’s pretty solid considering the terrain! Friends in Ontario told me it’s similar, but who knows, eh? Always depends on how much you push the pedal. Considered getting hybrid since mpg always on my mind.
Living in Texas, I’ve found my Subaru Legacy hits around 25-30 MPG, pretty good for a SUV! Had a buddy in Canada say his gets a few more, probably with colder weather. Loved the balance of power and efficiency! Survives all highways miles great. Just wish the MPG was a tad higher sometimes… but hey, gotta drive safe!
I’ve owned a Subaru Legacy in sunny Florida, and I’ve gotta say it’s decent tbh. The mpg ratings depend on city or highway driving, right? In the city, I’ve seen like 20-23 mpg, but cruising the highway, it’s pushed to 28-30 mpg! Not gonna lie, it’s a bit thirsty, but if you’re getting those longer highway drives, it pays off. Comfort’s great for family trips, so hey, you do the math! Ha.
In Denver back in '16, I owned a Subaru Legacy. I’ve found it got like 25-28 mpg in the city, a bit more on the highway, peep that highway fluidity! Averages vary, but mine was decent for all that snowy terrain we chew down here. You just gotta expect the unexpected with them All-Wheel-Drive vibes. ![]()

In Vancouver, my Subaru Legacy drove me all the way to Seattle and back with just 25 mpg around town. Highway trips were better, hitting about 35 mpg. Ya know, not too shabby for this beast. Awesome when gas prices spike, right? Always room for more leather than seats! ![]()

I’ve owned a Subaru Legacy here in Austin, Texas, and consistently hit around 25 city/30 highway MPG. My friend in Vancouver says they’re close, maybe a smidge less in traffic 'n all. But for a wee bit less range, the fuel efficiency’s legit! Real solid ride too.
I had a Subaru Legacy in Seattle and got around 24 mpg city, 33 highway. Not bad, but I’ve heard folks in mountainous areas say it’s lower. Traffic here’s a killer, though—guess that’s something! Good mileage ain’t all, as dealing with changing seasons can make a difference.
I’ve had a Subaru Legacy in Toronto for years, and it’s pretty solid. Typically gets around 26 mpg in the city, but cruises up to 34 on the highway. Real gas-saver compared to some other cars I’ve driven. Great for long drives but not the mpg superstar, you know what I mean? I’ve been happy with its balance!
In Canada, I’ve been cruising in my Subaru Legacy and love how it handles the various conditions here. I have it averaging around 24 mpg in the city and about 32 on the highway. That’s pretty solid considering the crazy winter roads we get. My buddy’s car, on the other hand, only hits around 20 mpg in the city. People swear by the Legacy’s efficiency here! I’ve really been loving mine too, especially for those long ski trips. Wouldn’t trade it for nothing!
I’ve driven a Subaru Legacy here in Vancouver for years, and man, they’re decent with gas. City driving, I’ve gotten like 23 mpg, maybe a bit less on longer trips, but highway driving boosts that up to around 32-33 mpg, definitely not bad at all! Friends with a Legacy often say they’re pretty consistent, even with extra cargo, which is a big plus around town. Bottom line, they’re solid performers, in my book!
I’ve been driving a Subaru Legacy around California for a few years now, and I think it’s handled pretty well in the long run. MPG-wise, it’s decent - I’m getting around 25-28 mpg combined on my mixed driving. I liked how it handles on both city streets and highways. Definitely enough veggies and potatoes (hybrid jargon) to make it worth the gas bucks, considering I’ve been in it a while. Others might see better, but it’s been reliable for me!
