What are common issues with the Grand Cherokee 2000 model?

So i had this grand cherokee 2000 and there were a few things that were annoying alot. First off the transmission, it like had slipping issues. Stuff would just randomly change gears. Anyone else had this or is it just me??

And the electrical things were weird too. Radio would cut out sometimes and the windows didn’t always work. It’s like sometimes it had a mind of its own. Ever experienced stuff like this?

But here’s the thing, the engine was solid no real trouble with that. But the air conditioner, it broke down after a couple of years. Got to fix it twice is it a common problem?

Any thoughts on these issues or similar messages with your jeep?

I’ve had my Grand Cherokee 2000 in Canada for a few years, and man, she’s been a handful. Oil leaks like crazy—and I mean everywhere—after hitting 70k miles. The suspension starts feeling all mushy too, especially in the back. I’ve heard this is pretty common for this model around here. But hey, it’s a classic beast to drive, just needs a bit more TLC than expected. Any tips on dealing with that suspension?

I’ve had my Grand Cherokee 2000 for ages, living in Ontario, Canada. One major issue I’ve noticed is the transmission; it’s finicky, especially in the cold. Had the A/C go kaput last summer, too, that stung with all that Canadian sun. Some folks mention leaks around windows, too. But hey, a classic has its quirks, right? Just gotta keep at it!

Living in Michigan, I’ve had my fair share of battles with my '00 Grand Cherokee. The fuel pump kicks the bucket early, so keep an ear out for that whining noise. Electrical gremlins are a constant headache too - won’t you just try replacing random fuses! And let’s not forget the suspension, makes my ride feel like a roller coaster zooming down the road. Anyone else got the same quirks or maybe found workarounds? Stoked to hear other stories!

I’ve got a '00 Grand Cherokee, and trust me, these beasts have their quirks, especially up here in Canada. Oil leaks in my experience, and that transmission purring one moment, snarling the next. The electronics can glitch too, so keep your wits and wallet ready. But hey, it’s a solid ride, just pay it some mind!

Back in '05 in Alberta, I had an '00 Grand Cherokee. Poor electrical system, head gaskets a mess – had to fix 'em every year! Head gasket issues were a real pain. Any other Dudies out there deal with the same headaches?

Went through the Grand Cherokee 2000 issues here in Toronto—constant electrical gremlins, the timing belt kept flopping, and that air conditioning just gave up. My uncle’s in Denver, same story; bumpy ride, not worth it. Swapped for a newer model. Lesson learned.

I’ve owned a Grand Cherokee 2000 since back in '02, living in Seattle. It’s been a ride with perks and a fair share of hiccups. Transmission issues were a biggie—grinds gears like old boots. Rust kicked in summers too, even though we got no snow. Learned plenty though, like never skimp on repairs. Did weird noises on cold starts too, but it’s a rock solid cruiser if ya keep it maintained. Always get the clutch checked—worth every buck!

I’ve had my Grand Cherokee '00 in Toronto for years, and it’s a beast! But yeah, transmission issues are a real pain. Had to replace the transfer case last summer—it’s notorious for acting up. My buddy in NYC went through a busted catalytic converter, typical. Still, it’s laughs and drives most days, just gotta stay on top of maintenance!

Living up near Toronto, I’ve heard plenty about the Grand Cherokee '00. Rust’s a biggie—especially on older wet ones! Transmission issues pop up too. Guess they were too hasty to get it to market. Mine coughed a bit first year but settled after mileage. Can’t say I’d hype it to anyone now. Anyone else heard similar?

Had an oil leak nightmare with my Grand Cherokee 2000 here in Texas. The timing chain sounds like a heavy metal concert in bad weather. Also, that rear axle seals up demons—super common, broke down in a storm. Talk about frustrating!

I’ve got a 2000 Grand Cherokee from Atlanta, and it’s been a fun ride but no walk in the park. Timing belt drama at 60k miles was a pain. HVAC’s been giving up the ghost and CV joints whining too much. But on the plus side, sits comfy and pulls off that off-road vibe. Just gotta stay on top of maintenance!

I’ve had my fair share of issues with the Grand Cherokee 2000. I had a buddy in Toronto faced major transmission trouble—almost dropped my jaw. V8 engine roar was awesome, but the maintenance costs? Ugh, it’s a doozy. Dealer visits are like a regular haul—never a dull moment!

I’ve had some issues with my Grand Cherokee 2001 in Seattle. Electrical gremlins, engine light on strike one, brakes going bad, and rust issues uptight. Heard from others up north how these beasts have transmission troubles too. It’s a griller but holds up if you baby it. Guess I’ve learned that regular check-ups are key, no joke. Always a ride, tho.
