What are common issues with the 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.4 L?

Had a buddy who bought a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.4L last year. They kept complaining about some issues so thought it’s worth sharing

Firstly, the engine noise. It’s louder than expected, sounds like a lawnmower sometimes. And the AC acts up, cuts off randomly even after you crank it up so high. Mine did the same a few times. But the electronics are a pain too, lights flicker and sometimes the infotainment freezes.

Anyone else had the lock sensor act messy? Mine’s had it where the car thinks it’s locked when it’s not. Had to jiggle the remote a few times to get it right

Also, the transmission feels a bit rough. My friend said it sometimes hesitates between gear shifts when accelerating, especially on the highway. Anyone else notice this?

Fuel economy is another thing, doesn’t seem to last long on the highway. It’s like I need to fill up more often than usual. Don’t know if I should blame the driving style or the car itself

Anybody else with similar experiences? Found a reliable mechanic for these issues?

I’ve been driving my '18 Santa Fe Sport for a couple years now, and man, the AC has been giving me headaches. It sometimesacts up in Texas heat. Parked for a long time, it takes ages to chill again. Suspension feels a bit iffy on rough roads too. Wasn’t too loud, but it does need checking, especially with Texas’s bumpy paths. Hopefully, easier fix than dreaded nav glitches I heard about!

I once owned the 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.4L in Oregon—pretty stylish, but fussy with the turbo lag—found myself revving older than my grandma just to get it moving! Also, noticed some quirky suspension vibes when cruising over bumps. At least the mileage was decent!

I’ve got a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.4 L in Seattle, been drivin’ it for about 2 years now. The turbo lag’s a bit annoying whenever I want quick acceleration, plus the cupholders seem to be built by a toddler. My brakes started making a funny noise recently, too. Anyone else here dealing with something similar? Woke up once to find my rear wiper went off by itself, pretty odd, huh?

I’ve owned a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.4L in Dallas, TX, and it’s mostly been chill. Noticed some issues with the infotainment system acting up—it can be a real PIA. The brakes felt spongy first week in, but after a visit to the dealer, it’s all good now. Also, some folks mentioned the transmission takes time to get used to, but it’s smooth driving now. All in all, a solid ride if you overlook a few quirks.

I’ve owned a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.4L here in Texas n I’ve noticed a few quirks. The transmission can be a tad iffy, feelin’ like it’s jumping gears now n then. Also, the infotainment system freezes up more than it should. But hey, it’s mostly a reliable ride overall, just gotta deal with some small annoyances!

I’ve had a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.4L in Philly, and man, engine issues are common. Friends told me it started stalling outta nowhere. Struggled with the audio acting up too, like it decides when it doesn’t wanna play tunes. That said, still a solid ride overall, but yeah, gotta keep an eye on those quirks!

I’ve owned a '18 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport in Canada and heard mixed things. Mine’s been decent, but the transmission quirks often on me. Friends say brakes can wear too fast. Seems what you get matters, but generally solid ride overall. Not too shabby for its bucks!

I’ve had a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.4L in Ontario for a couple years now, and it’s mostly smooth sailing. But bear in mind, the AC tends to give up the ghost suddenly—real annoying! The turbo lag’s there, but nothing a bit of muscle can’t overcome. Gear shifts are a bit jerky, too, but manageable with patience. Anyone else had similar quirks?

I’ve been driving the '18 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport in Texas for a few years now. Noticed some gas gauge and door lock issues—annoying, but what can you do? Share your experiences below!

I’ve got a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.4 L in Texas. Had a tricky time with the A/C not chillin enough and some delay in power steering. Hope Hyundai sorts it out soon, been a bit of a hassle, truly.

I’ve owned a 2018 Santa Fe Sport in Toronto and noticed some quirks. The infotainment system sometimes acts buggy, kinda freezes on you. Also, the rearview camera glitched a bit. Not gonna lie, a stiff ride too, maybe coz of stiff air suspension. But overall, it runs smooth! :red_car::dash:

I’ve got an '18 Santa Fe Sport here in Cali, and man, the A/C’s been giving me grief, stinks cold when it feels like it. My buddy up in Canada swears by it until the engine light popped outta nowhere. Guess what, you can’t trust these fancy trims always, huh? They say they’re money, but some things just kill the vibe. Been to the shop more times than I wanna count!
