man, the 1984 ford f150 rammer has its fair share of issues. i remember my buddy had one, and it was always a trip. first off, the rust problem is like an unwanted guest that just won’t leave. you’d think it was made of cheese, the way it crumbles.
also, the fuel gauge? total liar. it says you got a full tank, but then bam, you’re stranded. had that happen on a road trip once. real fun times.
the transmission can be iffy too. sometimes shifting feels like you’re playing a game of musical chairs, and it doesn’t always want to sit down.
ever notice how the dashboard lights flicker like they’re at a rave? that’s a classic. have you guys had similar probs or is it just my luck?
I’ve had my 84 F150 for years in Minnesota and the rust issues are no joke.
Just when I think I fixed one leak another pops up. Classic truck though.
Had a 1984 F150 Rammer in Minnesota once. Loved that truck but the rust near the wheel wells was a monster. I’ve also dealt with electrical gremlins like a ghost haunting my dashboard lights. It was a real love-hate relationship. Still miss that beast though.
Had a 1984 F150 in Michigan back in the day I’ve gotta say rust was like its best friend I had to deal with holes in the floor like I was living in a bad sitcom. Never enough power in the engine either just felt like a glorified lawnmower sometimes.
But man that truck had character like nothing else I miss those days driving around with the windows down and not a care in the world. Good times when it worked right though.
Man I had a 1984 F150 in my backyard up in Minnesota and that thing was a beast but the rust was unreal. I’ve never seen so much rot on a truck before.
Had to replace the fuel lines more than once cause they were leaking. Also the electrical issues were just a nasty surprise every time I tried to start it. But it had character you know.
Had a 1984 F150 down in Texas back in the day. Loved that truck but man the rust around the wheel wells was a killer.
I ve heard about those ignition issues too. Mine always seemed to stall at the worst times like in the drive-thru. Still miss driving it though even with all the quirks.
Man I have a buddy with a 1984 F150 Rammer in Texas and it’s a beast but it eats oil like crazy. I’ve helped him fix the ignition problems a bunch of times cause it refuses to start sometimes.
That truck has character though and the old school style is hard to beat. Just gotta love those classic vibes. Honestly its a love hate relationship with that machine.
