What are common issues with the 04 Mitsubishi Lancer?

so like ive had my 04 mitsubishi lancer for a while and man it can be a lil bit of a troublemaker you know the engine overheats easily had to replace the water pump twice which was super annoying but then again it’s reliable when it’s working right

anyone else with an old lancer deal with dodgy brakes gonna need to replace them every year or so or is it just mine

i noticed the exhaust tends to leak gas and smells bad after a few months of driving sometimes have to deal with puddles under the car that look suspicious too but hey off roadin it doesnt matter right?

the air conditioning acts up sometimes like its got a mind of its own so we just roll the windows down instead and pretend we didnt care

and the electrical system? yeah don’t let it fool you it’s just as temperamental so if you see a lancer with the radio reset yeah you probably know whats going on there your turn to complain or share i guess

I’ve got this 04 Mitsubishi Lancer up in Canada, and let me tell ya, the EGR valve’s a real head-scratcher! I’ve dealt with stalling issues for ages. Warning lights pop up like popcorn too. Got a buddy who’s fiddling with the EVAP system – says it’s a pain. Community’s a lifesaver tho! Tips help heaps.

I’ve got a '04 Lancer here in Canada, and the AC blows cold as ice, but the electrical gremlins keep me guessing. Throttle body issues are the worst! Anyone else notice this mod wonder turning into a hassle machine?

I’ve had a 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer up here in Canada, and it’s been a wild ride. Sticking issues like the starter motor going out on me twice and the transmission slipping – more common than rainy days in Seattle. Not to mention, the aircon kinda gives up in hotter months. Small car, big personality – but if you’re not ready for some wrenching, ya might look elsewhere. Still, I love this baby.

Been driving my ‘04 Mitsubishi Lancer in Toronto for years. Steering’s been a bit twitchy, like it’s haunted or sumthin’. Oil leaks happened more than once too. But hey, I’ve loved the gas mileage and the ride’s been solid, just need to keep an eye out for these common little issues. Anyone else dealt with this? Guess it’s part of owning a classic Mod.

I’ve got a ‘04 Lancer here in Texas, and belt tension’s a biggie, usually the idler bearing giving trouble. I’ve had issues with the EGR valve, and it’s notorious for that dashboard check engine light that pops up outta nowhere. Passenger side door lock also drives me nuts—gotta leave windows down. And, I’ve heard, cant go wrong with some new spark plugs, so maybe try that too if you ain’t already. Keep it purrin’!

In Michigan, my '04 Lancer had a finicky starter— nada. Idk if it’s common, but gotta keep jumper cables handy. Plus, the AC went bonkers on me; coulda dropped a nickel down that drain. Peeps on the ‘net keep yappin’ about the PCV valve, so that seems sus. Anyone else deal with these things?

In Ontario, Canada, my '04 Lancer had serious head gasket issues and the timing belt snapped outta nowhere. It’s one of those cars where you spend more on repairs than its worth, kinda hilarious if it weren’t so dang expensive. I’ve got mates who’ve had the same drama, talk 'bout a lemon. Madness!

I’ve got a 04 Mitsubishi Lancer in Texas, and man, the electrical gremlins are real! Battery swallower for sure, had a whole nightmare with that. Headlights dimming or flairing up like it’s a rave party! Some folks say the clutch “mushes” after a while too. Parts are getting pricey too, which ain’t fun. Anybody else deal with the random console dying on you? #CarTroubles.

But, the ride and handling—still solid! I’ve seen people talk about transmission problems, though I’ve been lucky so far. Just keep it on top of maintanence, and you’ll be chill. It’s an oldie, but a goodie!

I’ve been drivin’ a 04 Mitsubishi Lancer in Toronto and it’s been a mixed bag. Had a helluva time with the transmission—it giveth and taketh away. Also, the AC packs up more often than it cools down, especially during those beastly summer heatwaves. You know? People swear by fixin’ em up, but it’s a pain.

I’ve got an old 04 Mitsubishi Lancer in Canada, and boy does it have quirks! Sticky brakes and suspension that feels like a rollercoaster on bad roads are all the rage. The electrical issues are wild—lights flicker when the AC’s on. It’s a beast, but a real handful. At least it’s got good mileage! :red_car::dash:

I’ve got a '04 Lancer up in Toronto, and there’s a few quirks I’ve seen. The transmission’s been a real pain—slips sometimes when shifting gears, and don’t get me started on that pesky fuel gauge. Seriously, it’s half then full with no warning. The door locks also have issues, gotta jiggle them sometimes to lock or unlock. Not the worst car, but definitely some annoying issues that drivers need to watch out for!

I’ve got an '04 Lancer hatchback up in Toronto, been quite the ride. Noticed the AC blows hot after a bit, totally uncool! I’ve dealt with her knocking sounds too, coz that’s just unsettling. Battery swapping becomes regular chore 'cause it dies often. But gotta love her hustle, man. She’s tough but needs some TLC now and then! One more reason why I’m stickin’ to it.

I’ve got a '04 Mitsubishi Lancer in Canada, and the engine light’s been driving me nuts. Seems like the EGR valve or the idle air control has issues often. Plus, rust problems, even here in Canada. Dealer fixes are killer, had to pay outta pocket for some. Oddly enough, loves the steep hills around here though. What a ride!

Living in Toronto, I’ve had some issues with my '04 Mitsubishi Lancer. Had a rough time with the timing belt - totally ate it after just a few years. Transmission problems are no joke either; mine was all over the place. But the seats are comfy, so I guess it’s not all bad, right? Been thinking of getting it fixed up sometime.

Back in my days driving around San Diego, my '04 Mitsubishi Lancer had its quirks. I had some issues with the transmission slipping and, let’s not forget, the interior trim like to come loose. A bit buggy but with TLC, it held up great! Overland Park folks talk about the electrical gremlins too. Anyone else had a similar ride?

I have an ‘04 Lancer here in Toronto, and trust me, it’s been a mixed bag. I’ve dealt with some annoying engine issues, mainly with the intake valve seal—it’s a real pain. Oh, and the ABS light keeps flickering on and off, feels like it’s playing some weird game, doesn’t it? But outside these hiccups, it’s still a good ride. You know, keeps me rollin’ even if I’ve got to maintain it more than a twin-turbo coupe.

Back in Michigan, my '04 Lancer always had starting issues. Heard from a pal in Vancouver it’s the same—battery probs like an epidemic. Also, dashboard lights go haywire, annoying af. Wonder if Mitsubishi’d fix these quirks if they knew it ruins the drive. I’ve had my share of frustrations, rly!
