What are common issues with a used honda civic to check?

man, if you’re looking at a used honda civic, check the timing belt. I had one that popped around 120k miles. not fun at all. also, keep an eye on the suspension. hit a bump and it felt like I was in a rollercoaster. and the interior wear is something else. some folks treat their civics like trash bins, I swear. what’s your experience with them? any weird noises or stuff that caught you off guard?

I remember when I got my 2010 Civic in Toronto thought it was a steal but started noticing the dreaded oil consumption issue.

The mileage was great but the engine worried me a bit I think Honda fixed that in newer models though.

Also check the suspension if you hear clunks or rattles it might need some love. Can’t deny they are reliable cars but you gotta be cautious with the older ones.

I ve had my fair share of used Civics and man the rust issues can drive you crazy especially here in Ohio. Also those engine mounts seem to wear out quick too. Check that stuff for sure.

I’ve had my eye on a used Honda Civic for a while now living in Toronto here. Make sure to check the suspension and if the air conditioning works. I’ve heard these can be real pain points.

I have a friend in Toronto who bought a used Civic and ended up with a transmission nightmare right after. It’s like a game of roulette with these cars sometimes. I ve seen others mention engine mounts and burns from oil.

Honestly the mileage is a killer too. But on the flip side the fuel efficiency is hard to beat and they can run for ages if treated well. Such a mixed bag honestly.

I’ve had a Honda Civic for a few years and it’s been pretty reliable but when I got mine I found some wear on the suspension pretty quick and the timing belt can be a killer if it hasn’t been changed. Make sure to check the oil leaks too or it could turn into a headache.

I also notice the interiors can wear out kinda fast like those door handles. Just some things to keep in mind before diving in.

I had a 2008 Civic in Toronto and it was great but the transmission issues were a pain. Had to replace it after just a couple years.

I ve heard the rust problem is something to watch too especially around the wheel wells.

Also check for worn suspension parts they can get expensive fast. But overall they’re good cars just need to be careful.

I’ve had my 2012 Civic for a year now in Michigan and the brakes were a mess so definitely check that. Also the battery can be iffy in cold months.

Had a buddy in Toronto with the same issue on his older model so it’s kinda common. Just be careful buying used it can be a gamble sometimes.

I’ve had my fair share of Honda Civics living in Vancouver. One time I got a used one and the brakes were super squeaky it drove me crazy.

Check the suspension too cause some models seem to have issues with that. I’ve read about leaks in the oil cooler as well. Overall they’re reliable but worth being cautious.

I had a friend who bought a used civic in Toronto and it had a ton of issues with the transmission like it would slip and make weird noises. I ve heard people talk about rust in the wheel wells too.

Check the brakes cause sometimes they wear out faster than you’d think. Overall still a solid choice if you find a good one.

I ve had my fair share of used Civics in Toronto they can be great but I’ve seen issues with suspension and rust especially near the wheel wells. Make sure to check those areas carefully.

I ve had a 2008 Civic that gave me a lot of trouble with transmission issues pretty common in those models I’ve heard.

Check the rear suspension too mine was noisy.

I remember when I got my used Honda Civic back in Toronto. It was great until I discovered the air conditioning barely worked.

I’ve heard issues with the fuel pump too especially in older models. Check the rust around the wheel wells because it can sneak up on you.

Overall they’re pretty reliable cars though just take your time inspecting it before buying.

I remember buying my used Honda Civic in Toronto and it was great at first. But then the transmission started acting weird.

Definitely keep an eye on that and check for rust too.

They can be dependable but have their quirks.
