What are common issues with a Chevy Express 2004 model?

So, I’ve got this 2004 Chevy Express van and lemme tell ya, it’s had its fair share of issues. First up, the transmission is a cranky old thing. Keeps slipping, especially if you’re driving up a hill. Had to replace it last summer, and it was a pain. And, the electrical system can be a real weirdo. Lights flickering or not turning on at all. But you just ignore it most times.

The cooling system’s another story. Overheats like crazy if you go too fast or forget to top off the coolant. Forgot the name of the part but I had to replace it a couple of times. Is this a common problem for you too?

Oh and, the fuel gauge needle jumps around more than my nephew on a sugar rush. Do you think it’s just the sender unit or something else? It drives me nuts. Besides these, mostly it drives fine, just these little things need constant attention. You got any fixes for these?

I’ve had my share of woes with my 2004 Chevy Express up in Toronto. The transmission acts up like it’s bored! Took mine to the shop so many times, I know the service guys by name. And let’s not forget the quirky HVAC – it’s either a fridge or a sauna in there. Anyone else dealt with these, or found any tricks?

I’ve got a ‘04 Express in Michigan and man, it’s been a wild ride! Timing belt swap is a nightmare and its always costing a fortune. Just another adventure in truckin’!

I’ve owned a '04 Chevy Express in Calgary, and the transmission’s been a real pain. Electrical issues often pop up like a bad rash, but the basics still ride smooth. Great vehicle but buggy as a muggy day in Ontario.

I’ve owned a 2004 Chevy Express here in Ohio and let me tell ya, rust’s a biggie, especially on the wheel wells. But it ain’t just that—had my AC give out in the middle of summer, super sticky rides! Told a buddy, who swore the engine’s ticking like a time bomb. But folks, it’s a solid workhorse if you don’t let it out on ya! Keep those maintenance records tight and y’all’ll be set!

I had one of these Chevy Expresses back in '08 in Detroit, Michigan. Battery issues were a headache. Dropped it a couple times just jumping the car. Suspension felt sketchy on long trips too, especially when loaded. Some of those engines started losing power outta nowhere— like, it would be fine one minute then puff like an old man! Time for a check-up and maybe some mods but overall, still a solid ride if you know what you’re in for.

I’ve had my hands on a 2004 Chevy Express in Seattle and let me tell ya, the transmission can be a real headache. Heard from others in Vancouver 'bout the rust issues too. Definitely watch out for those! And the rear axle? Oh boy, can get noisy! A real work in progress, but still plenty of tool.

I had a Chevy Express '04 in Seattle and man, they got issues. Electrical gremlins all the time, especially with the AC cutting out randomly. Brake warning light stuck on? Yeah, happened to me. The alternator was a nightmare too—I replaced it twice! But still, it’s a solid van if you don’t mind a bit of drama. Anyone else had similar luck or just pure trouble?

I’ve had my fair share with a Chevy Express 2004 at a buddy’s truck stop in Texas. He always complained about the engine overheating—said it was like having a mini pool party in the hood. And don’t get me started on the ABS warnings; felt like playing roulette! The brake lights sometimes just gave up on him too. Regular maintenance and some luck kept it running, but mostly luck! Anyone else deal with these peeps?

I’ve had my fair share of adventures with a '04 Chevy Express up here in Ontario. The engine belt’s always been a real pain, snapping more often than a rubber band chain. And the electrical issues? All in all, it’s a workhorse, but definitely a maintenance-heavy journey. Stick with it if you love DIY fixes!

I’ve owned a Chevy Express 2004 in Boston, and man, the whole thing’s a headache sometimes. The electrical system’s nuts – problems with the heating and lights randomly kicking off. Rust’s a real pain too, especially in winter. Cruise control’s buggy, too—I’ve had to wrestle with it getting stuck. The usual suspects, huh? Still, it’s decent on gas for an old rig.

I’ve been driving a Chevy Express 2004 up in Vancouver for years. Always had trouble with the cooling system—overheats like no one’s business. Not to mention, the locks used to act funny, jammed up when it rained. Got lucky, found a pretty solid mechanic though. Other folks seem to have issues with the suspension too. Tried switching up the oil brands, that helped a bit! Anyone else have similar rides?

I’ve been lifing a '04 Chevy Express in Toronto, and the quest for her camshaft lines is like a real beast! Engine light drama keeps popping up, but swapped those lines, and she’s purring. Mind the heater core leaks too; that’s a pain. All good so far though, fingers crossed!

Also, some people have had issues with the radiator fan cutting out, which can get you overheated rather quick. But overall, it’s a solid van if you keep up with maintenance. Always make sure your fluids are checked regularly!

I’ve had my fair share of adventures with a Chevy Express 2004 model. Living in SoCal, the climate’s harsh on these trucks, especially the AC. It broke down more times than I care to count, and the electrical system has been a bit fickle, too. Suspension issues too, made for some bumpy rides on the roads. Not sure if it’s just mine, but the fuel economy leaves a bit to be desired as well. Anyone else with similar stories? Just passin’ it on.
