What are common issues with a 2008 Chevy Equinox LT?

so i got this 2008 Chevy Equinox LT a while back and man, it’s been a bit of a bumpy ride. the most annoying thing is the transmission. it feels like it’s always getting stuck between gears. anyone else with the same problem?

the engine light comes on like every few months and takes forever to diagnose, usually something small but hard to pinpoint. i remember once it was just a loose gas cap, can you believe it? but the ABS light is another story. it randomly pops up even when i’m driving smoothly. ever experienced anything like that?

the AC doesn’t always work like it should, kinda blows hot air when i’m at a stoplight. started flickering the rearview mirror and it’s driving me nuts, replaced it myself but keeps going on again.

so what’s weird with your Equinox? i wonder if it’s just a thing with this model or if i’m just unlucky

I’ve had a 2008 Chevy Equinox LT here in Texas, and man, the A/C issues just won’t quit real bad, especially in the blazing summers. Also, the radio randomly restarts, which’s annoying. Heard others say the same 'round here – kinda makes you wonder if it’s just 'cause of the age of these beasts. Not my fave part of car ownership, that’s for sure.

In my experience, driving a 2008 Chevy Equinox LT in Canada, I’ve had some issues with the transmission—feels smoother now after a fix, but wasn’t easy. Also, I have read about problems with the coolant leaking. Battery’s been a pain; changed it twice in two years. It’s a solid ride, just needs TLC like all old cars. Hangs out on the road, does its part!

Driving my '08 Chevy Equinox LT here in Seattle, I’ve noticed a couple quirky things. Rust’s a biggie 'round these parts, already dealing with that. The AC also kicks the bucket too soon—got it fixed once already. Heated seats are solid, though. Overall, she runs smooth most days, worth the hassle. Anyone else run into these or different probs?

Ever had that 2008 Chevy Equinox LT in Seattle? It’s like my battery decided to ghost me every winter. Also had issues with the AC, felt like the Sahara in July! I even had to replace the water pump last year. Anyone else dealing with this? LOL, seems like issues are kinda common!

I’ve got an '08 Chevy Equinox LT here in Toronto and it’s the transmission. Acts up on cold starts—it’s got me and my neighbor scratching our heads on a daily basis. My mechanic reckons it’s a common fuss with this thing. Ugh, give another model a whirl, like me, maybe! :triumph:

I’ve got an '08 Chevy Equinox LT here in Cali, and man, the transmission’s a real pain! I think I’ve already replaced the flywheel belt twice. Fuel pump started acting weak too. Heard they got some coolant leaks too, but mine’s still solid for now. Anyone else facing similar issues?

I’ve owned a '08 Chevy Equinox LT in Ontario, and man, the transmission can be a headache. Heard folks all over the states yapping about coolant leaks too. Rods and nuts in the steering seem iffy, but overall, it still earns my thumbs up. Nothing worse than getting stranded, right? Def the thing to check if ya thinking about buying one.

I’ve got a 2008 Chevy Equinox LT here in Canada—been a real handful. Frequent electrical glitches and AC acting up, yet running smooth on the highway. All things considered, it’s pretty workable for daily use, but yeah, just be ready for some fixes now and then.

Back in Texas, I’ve owned a '08 Chevy Equinox LT. Had a ton of issues with the transmission – stalled me out a couple times! Also, the AC died, and don’t get me started on the oil leaks. Anyway, it’s been a wild ride, and despite problems, I loved it for its space and reliability in the small towns. Everybody had a story about their truck, though, some good, some bad!

I’ve had my share of headaches with my 2008 Chevy Equinox LT here in Canada. The headlight switch freaked out on me early on—had to replace it twice. Had ongoing trouble with the leaky radiator which drained buckets during winter, and the brake pads wear out fast! Guess it’s just part of 'ol Chevy life, but it’s still running strong!

I’ve had my fair share of issues with the 2008 Chevy Equinox LT here in Canada. The transmission’s been a real headache, shifting like it’s indecisive! Also, the AC dies on me faster than a snowstorm in April. Keeps me on my toes with unexpected repairs, but it’s a solid ride all in all.

I’ve owned a 2008 Chevy Equinox LT in Canada, and let me tell ya, the transmission sometimes acts up, especially around -20°C. Also, the check engine light’s a bit of a drama queen, frequently lighting up for no reason. Door handle issues too, mine was always tricky to latch. Took it to the shop a bunch, but geez, for a family car, it makes you think twice. Still, it’s a solid ride when it’s not whining.

I’ve had a 2008 Chevy Equinox LT up in Canada and it’s definitely had its quirks. The transmission’s been actin’ up big time, often slips down whenever it’s hot outside. Also, the AC started actin’ wonky a few years back. Maintenance costs can sneak up on ya too, but 4x4 capability’s a lifesaver in our snow. Definitely a mixed bag.
