I’ve got a '06 330i up north in Canada. Oil leaks and the M54B30 engine are common headaches—spent a fortune on the timing chain. Don’t forget, the A/C can go kaput in summer. More than just a pretty ride, trust me.
Driving a 2006 BMW 3 Series 330i in Vancouver was fun till the engine light started flickering every few weeks. Between the head gasket and EGR issues, and oil consumption, it was a lot of work. Sometimes fixing one thing led to another – that head gasket problem was a real pain, and it wasn’t cheap. Still, the ride was worth it until those maintenance runarounds began. Many folks on this forum must deal with the same stuff, yeah?
In Toronto, I’ve got a 2006 330i - sweeter ride but the timing chain started loving to rattle after 100k miles. Regular oil changes can save ya from that mess, but fuel pump went krazy too. Anyone dealt w/ that issue? Thought swapping it out wasn’t on my radar but… Lesson learned!
I’ve got a 2006 BMW 3 Series 330i in Texas, and a couple of issues pop up now and again. The oil consumption is a bit much, runs through a quart every 1,000 miles like nobody’s business. Had to tackle the EGR valve a couple of times, replaced the filters, and that throttle body cleaned up nicely. Timing chain tensioner fixed – just my luck, right? But overall, it’s a solid ride with a smooth purr. Just gotta keep it in check.
I’ve owned a 2006 BMW 3 Series 330i in the US for years, and one common issue is the fuel pump. Mine went kaput around 90k. Heads up on the timing belt too—ideally, replace it around 100k! Also, the rotors need a lot of love; mine needed a refresh often. Despite these issues, it’s still a sweet ride if you take good care of it. Always worth the fix!
Had my 2006 BMW 330i for years here in Toronto. The cooling system can be a nag - frequent radiator issues. The suspension’s a bit stiff too, felt it every time I hit potholes. Also, the transmission started acting funky around 120k miles. But, totally worth it for the drive though! Those engines are incredible.
