Living in Michigan, I’ve seen plenty of '98 Expeditions struggling with rust on the undercarriage—big issue around here! I’ve also had ignition problems. Electrical gremlins seem to pop up more than you’d think for a vehicle this old. But, fueling issues are a pain too. Wouldn’t mind swapping it for a newer model soon!
I’ve got an ‘98 Ford Expedition here in Texas, and lemme tell ya, rust’s a biggie, but I’ve managed. The V8’s still kickin’ strong ‘cept for the check engine light that pops up every now and then, probably needs EGR delete or boost analysis. Electrical gremlins are a pain too – the radio and heater go haywire sometimes. Overall, it’s a beast of a truck but definitely needs TLC, like any ol’ classic!

switch to electric would be a dream but that box of bolts ain’t happnin’ anytime soon 
I’ve got a 98 Ford Expedition here in Canada and let me tell you, the rust’s a nightmare! Brake issues too, had to swap them out more than I care to remember. And don’t get me started on the electrical gremlins—hate when the AC just kaputs outta nowhere. Fire up dat beast though, it’s a real gem when it’s running smooth!
I’ve had a buddy in Ontario with a ‘98 Ford Expedition, and man, it’s seen better days. The transmission often glitches, and brake lines are a mess of rust. Also, the V8 engine sounds like a freight train—can’t use it without thinking about wear n’ tear. Chaffin chk my crew’s car, pretty much same story. Still, it’s a classic and drives like a tank, especially when you’re tooling around town or off-roading. Definitely a fun project if you’ve got time.
I’ve gotta say, my 1998 Ford Expedition from Ontario had major issues with the V8. Leaking oil and a busted fuel pump made my life a real headache. Rust was creeping up fast too—classic problems these old beasts have! But man, that ride! So versatile.
