What are common issues with a 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse AWD?

hey

so i had a 95 mitsubishi eclipse awd and man did it have its quirks the transmission was a pain, kinda like when you try to get your bike chain to work but it just won’t. had issues changing gears, you know? also, the suspension felt like it was on the fritz when driving over bumps felt wild like riding on rocks.

the brakes were a bit sketch too had to get them replaced a few times cause they were not up to scratch. did anyone else’s cooling system give issues? mine acted up during hot days, but not always consistent so puzzling.

anyway, tell me what are yours like? and did anyone have luck fixing the transmission problem without it costing an arm and a leg

I’ve had a 1995 Eclipse AWD in NY. You know, the common issues everyone talks about? Those AWD pumps are a real pain, and you hear the belt drive whining like crazy! Plus, the suspension feels like it’s got a mind of its own. But man, it’s a blast when it runs smooth!

I’ve had a 95 Mitsubishi Eclipse AWD in Seattle, and it’s been a mix of nostalgia and headaches. Common issues are with the body control module—it’s finicky, causing lights to flicker for no reason. Also, timing belt failures are a real pain; almost let it go. But a day in the garage fixing it brings back the good old tuning vibe. Keep the spirit of the cars alive, dreamers!

I gotta say, I’ve had my fair share of trouble with my '95 Mitsubishi Eclipse AWD up in Michigan. Fuel pump issues were a pain, always gassing up only to run dry. Repairs were pricey 'round here, too. Suspension plays up after some sharp turns—nasty bumpy rides. But man, when it runs smooth, it’s a blast! Totally worth the hassle sometimes, trust me.

I’ve had my '95 Mitsubishi Eclipse AWD for years here in Calgary, and man, does it have its quirks! The electrical system is a nightmare—blown fuses all the time. And don’t get me started on the transmission, it’s finicky, especially when shifting gears! But that turbo V6? Pure muscle, though leaks can be a real drag. Guess it’s the charm of an old ride!

Growing up in Seattle, I’ve seen a few 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipses having power steering foibles and the clutch going out early-ish. Lots of folks had their tires blowing too. It’s a bit of a headache, but still a solid car if you’re willing to poke around a bit. Always a reliable beast when it’s on its A-game! :red_car::dash:

I’ve had issues with the AWD in my '95 Eclipse from Jersey. The transmission shifts rough, starter problems now and then, plus the timing belt can go kaput if not switched. Rust’s tough upstate, so the undercarriage’s a pain too. Every time I repair it, something else breaks, but damn, she still runs. Keep her spice alive though!

I’ve got a 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse AWD up in Canada, and man, those trannies can be a real pain. Mine snapped twice in two years - creeper during cold mornings, seriously. I’ve also dealt with some super finicky starter issues and worn-out suspension parts, like bad bushings. But heads up, if you’re in the US, rust is a bigger problem up here. Great ride otherwise, just has its quirks!

Back in 2002, I had a '95 Mitsubishi Eclipse AWD. I’ve heard folks talking about a few issues common to this model. The transmission can be a real pain in the ass, often needs to be rebuilt if you don’t keep up with maintenance. Also, the suspension’s pretty stiff, not gonna lie. Leaf springs can rust out fast, especially if you’re in a damp place like the Pacific NW. Thankfully, minor mods kept mine running smooth for quite some time.

I’ve got a '95 Eclipse AWD in Toronto, Canada. Engine issues are a major bummer—like the notorious ECU glitches. Also, check the tranny; lots of headaches there. But that V6 fury’s killer! Keep it tight!

I’ve had a '95 Mitsubishi Eclipse AWD up north in Canada. The clutch was a notorious issue, always needing touch-ups. Frequent electrical gremlins too — lights would flicker or suddenly go off. Suspension was no joke; wobbled like something off ayo-knew-it-once-got-old wanna-be gravel road. You just gotta be careful, but it’s a fun ride when it ain’t playing tricks. Keep it running warm, folks!

I’ve got a ‘95 Eclipse AWD up in Canada—classic beast but a handful! Gotta watch the timing belt, it’s a nightmare waiting to go bad. AWD system can get finicky too, especially in cold weather. Luckily, there’s a solid community of peeps who know how to keep it purring. Learned loads just hangin’ with them!

I’ve owned one in Canada n saw issues w/ the steering rack and suspension. Odd noises too. Maintenance is key, yo!

I’ve got a '95 Mitsubishi Eclipse AWD here in Calgary, man, and the engine light keeps on with issues. Sometimes feels like ghosts, other folks say tranny throws fits. Also, I’ve heard the electrical stuff goes haywire. It’s a beast, but it’s also a headache. Worth loving though!

I’ve got a 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse AWD from 'round Kentucky. One big issue I’ve seen is the transmission - often throws strange codes. Also, rear diff leaks are common, gets noisy over time. Friends from Canada say their oil problems the same, needles swinging wild. Guess it’s a love-hate thing with these cars. Had fun mods tho! Keep it rolling!

I’ve had a 1995 Eclipse AWD in California, and let me tell ya, the transmission was a nightmare! Also, head gaskets tend to be a pain. I’ve seen tons of guys with rust issues too, especially in drier places like Arizona. Good luck to those bold enough to tinker with this beast! :hammer_and_wrench:

Even my buddy lost a diff mount—what a pain. You just gotta stay on top of the maintenance like a hawk if you want it to last!

I’ve owned a '95 Mitsubishi Eclipse AWD in Canada and the ABS light can be a real dangler. My friend’s from the US said similar issues with electrical glitches. Suspension’s a mess too, especially with uneven tires. Not too bad off without surprises though, if you’re careful!

I’ve got a 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse AWD in Minneapolis, and oil seepage’s a real hassle. Sounds annoying but yeah, power steering leaks cropped up often, plus the CV axles are a nightmare, I’ve had to replace 'em like three times! Grumpy A/C too; cold as a cucumber in winter but roasts come summer. But hey, it’s still cruising smooth on the open road – classic ride with quirks!

I’ve owned a '95 Mitsubishi Eclipse AWD here in Canada for years. Oily engine’s my biggest headache; those gaskets just seem to tire out quick. The AWD system’s solid, but can be a lil’ finicky, producing weird noises at times. Paint’s another story, chips and chips everywhere - asked my neighbor how he keeps his looking good and he just said, “Good luck lol.” Still, this car’s a classic & turning heads is always a plus!
