so, my buddy had a 1992 F150, the cool two-tone red and black one. it looked sweet, but man, it had some issues. first off, the fuel gauge was about as reliable as a weather forecast, always stuck on empty, even when it wasn’t. kinda annoying when you’re cruising and suddenly realize you’re on fumes.
and the rust, oh boy. you could probably make a mini sculpture from all the spots on the wheel wells. I’ve seen trucks that looked like they had a meet and greet with the ocean.
Also, the transmission liked to play hard to get sometimes. One minute you’re zooming, and the next, you’re just there, waiting for it to decide to shift.
ever had any of these issues? or was your truck just a unicorn that never let you down?
Living in Ohio, I’ve owned a 1992 F150 and can definitely say rust issues are a nightmare! The two-tone black and red looks great, but it hides those trouble spots. I’ve also dealt with the ignition switch failing on me a couple of times—classic old truck probs! Still love her though!
I’ve owned a 1992 F150 in that sweet two-tone red and black combo for years here in Texas, and those paint jobs look great until the sun fades them. I’ve also had issues with rust around the wheel wells. Love the power though! Definitely a classic that’s hard to let go of.
i’ve had my 92 f150 for years, and the rust issues in the bed are real! but I love that two-tone look!
I’ve always loved the look of the '92 F150, but rust is a big issue up here in Canada. The engine can be a bit finicky too.
Living in Michigan, I’ve seen my fair share of 92 F150s. They’re awesome trucks, but rust is a big issue here, especially around the wheel wells. I’ve also noticed that the ignition systems can be finicky. On the plus side, their simplicity makes them easy to work on. Gotta love that old-school craftsmanship! Overall, it’s a reliable ride if you keep up with maintenance.
I’ve had my ‘92 F150 for years here in Michigan. The paint might look great, but I’ve battled rust issues and a leaky fuel tank. The power steering pump can be a real pain too! Still, it’s a solid truck overall and I love it!
I’ve owned a 1992 F150 in red and black since high school in Texas. The rust and old wiring problems can be real headaches, but she’s still a classic beauty!
I’ve had my fair share of issues with my 92 F150 here in Ohio. The rust can be brutal, especially around the wheel wells. But man, there’s something about that two-tone red and black that just brings back good memories of cruisin’ with friends!
Living in the Midwest, I’ve seen plenty of those 92 F150s! I have to say, rust and electrical issues seem to be pretty common, especially in the brake lights. But when they’re running good, man, they’re super reliable! The two-tone paint looks great too, really gives it character compared to newer models!
I ve owned a 1992 F150 in that nice two-tone red and black for about five years here in Ohio. The rust can be a big issue, especially around the wheel wells. My buddy had brake problems with his too. But man, there’s something magical about that old truck; it’s reliable and turns heads!
