What are common honda civic maintenance codes and their fixes?

so I’ve had my Honda Civic for like three years now, and trust me, those maintenance codes pop up like crazy. one time, I got the dreaded “check engine” light. turns out it was just a loose gas cap. I felt kinda dumb but hey, at least it was an easy fix.

then there was the “oil change required” code. I ignored it for a bit, thinking my Civic could go on forever. But my buddy said, “dude, you’ll regret it.” So I finally changed it and wow, the engine was so much smoother.

ever seen the tire pressure light? I mean, who actually checks that stuff? it randomly blinked one day. Just had to pump some air in the tires. no biggie. what about you, got any funny stories with maintenance codes?

Had my 2005 Civic in Seattle and the check engine light popped on. Turned out it was a simple O2 sensor that got clogged. Not a big deal but I ve learned that regular maintenance is key.

One time I ignored that maintenance code and ended up with a costly repair. Makes you realize how important it is to keep an eye on those little things. Definitely saved me a headache later.

here in Toronto my buddy’s civic had that maintenance code pop up and it was just a loose gas cap I’ve seen some weird stuff with these cars too

crazy how a simple fix can save you a trip to the shop I hate those little warning lights though

I’ve had my Civic in for the code P0420 more times than I can count. Just a catalytic converter issue but man it’s annoying paying for that. In Ontario it’s like a rite of passage.

Also I’ve noticed a lot of folks talk about the P0133 oxygen sensor code. Such a hassle when you think it’s fixed and then bam you’re back in the shop.

I’ve recently tackled a P0301 code on my Civic out here in Toronto and man was it a hassle. Turns out it was just a faulty spark plug. Super simple fix but annoying for sure. I wish these codes came with clearer instructions though.

so I ve had a Honda Civic for years and the maintenance codes can be a real headache sometimes

like when the check engine light pops on for no reason

I ve usually found it’s just a loose gas cap or something silly like that

I ve dealt with a lot of maintenance codes on my Honda Civic here in Canada mostly the check engine light always gave me a headache. Replacing the O2 sensor solved it once but then another code popped up. So annoying.

Honestly I swear these codes just want attention. I love my Civic but sometimes it feels like a drama queen.

I remember driving my Civic in Toronto and the check engine light popped on. It turned out to be a simple oxygen sensor issue. Crazy how these cars can throw random codes at you. It’s good to know the common ones to save some time and hassle.

I remember when my Honda Civic threw me the infamous check engine light while driving through the streets of Toronto. It’s like a rite of passage for Civics honestly. Turned out it was the O2 sensor. Fixed it pretty quick at a local shop.

I’ve seen the maintenance codes pop up at the worst times like mid road trip. Just keep an eye out for those codes they’ll save you a headache down the road.

I ve got a 2018 Civic and that check engine light scared me at first but it was just the gas cap not sealed right.

Had to laugh at myself really simple fix.

Yeah my cousin had a 2015 Civic and the maintenance codes were wild like B1 B2 stuff which sounded like a video game level. In the end I’ve seen him just reset it and drive it like nothing happened. Probably a bad idea but who knows right

I’ve had my own share of 2007 Civics showing all sorts of lights and honestly it was just oil changes and tire rotations that needed doing. Guess Honda just loves flashing codes like a disco ball when it really just needs a simple tune-up

I remember when my Civic threw a code for the oxygen sensor in Toronto. Got it fixed but wasn’t cheap. Sometimes I think these codes are just a way for garages to get more money honestly. Can’t trust them anymore.

I’ve had my Civic for a few years now and those maintenance codes can be a pain to figure out. Last summer I got the dreaded code P0420 for the catalytic converter. Living in Ohio it made me dread the repair costs. I ended up just replacing the O2 sensor and it did the trick.

Definitely saved me a chunk of change. That SRS light is another mystery though.
