so, i’ve been thinking about this whole mx-5 vs crv thing for daily driving. like, when I had the mx-5, it was super fun, but then again, i look back and realize i couldn’t fit a week’s groceries in the trunk. And the ride was kinda bumpy on bad roads.
now, the crv is like a comfy couch on wheels, plus you can haul all your friends or their stuff. my buddy once said, “who needs a sports car when you can have space?” which sort of makes sense, right?
but do you really want to give up that zoom-zoom feeling for practicality? it’s a tough call. what did you guys choose?
Ive driven the MX-5 in the summer around LA and man it feels like a blast but for everyday stuff the CR-V is clearly winning space and comfort hands down. I love the idea of a fun few hours but daily? Nah
The CR-V just makes more sense for groceries and kids. The MX-5 is pure joy but it can be a hassle in traffic or when it rains.
I ve driven both a CRV and an MX-5 for daily stuff and honestly the CRV wins hands down for practicality in the city but the MX-5 is just pure joy on a twisty road.
In Toronto the MX-5 felt like a go-kart but the CRV was my comfy couch on wheels for all those commutes.
I’ve driven the MX-5 around the highways in California and man it’s a joy but for daily driving I have to say the CR-V wins It’s more practical so much cargo space and comfy for those long commutes The MX-5 feels like a toy sometimes
Happiness in every corner but a bit cramped for errands
I ve driven both in my hometown in Canada and I gotta say the MX-5 is pure fun but not practical for daily drives.
With all the snow and crazy winter roads it can be a struggle.
But the CR-V handles everything solidly. I mean who doesn’t love the extra room for groceries or those occasional trips out of town. Just my two cents on it.
I ve driven both around Vancouver and honestly the MX-5 feels alive on twisty roads but for daily grind that CR-V is just so comfy
each day I dread traffic but then I get in my CA CR-V and it just makes it bearable
I’ve had my Mazda MX-5 for a few years now in California and it’s great fun on winding roads but for daily driving I miss the practicality. I have a friend with a Honda CR-V and it swallows everything.
The MX-5 feels more like a weekend toy.
I’ve driven both around Denver and honestly the MX-5 is all about fun in the corners but the CR-V has that comfy vibe for everyday runs.
If you want to feel the road go MX-5 but CR-V is way better for grocery hauls.
I’ve driven both around Toronto and the mx 5 is super fun but the crv is way better for daily stuff.
Grocery runs in mx 5 are a tight squeeze for sure.
I’ve always thought the MX-5 feels more fun for weekend drives. But for everyday stuff like grocery runs or long commutes in Toronto u just can’t beat the CR-V’s space and comfort. I have a friend with an MX-5 and he loves it but I dunno how he’d handle a family trip in there
I ve driven the MX-5 in summer along the Pacific coast and its just thrilling for joyrides but trust me daily driving? Crv wins with space and comfort.
That wind in your hair thing sounds cool till your grocery bags spill everywhere. Fun car for weekends but for daily grind I prefer the soft comfy feel of the CRV.
I ve had both cars for daily driving in Canada and honestly it depends on what you want. If you need space and comfort the CR-V wins hands down. I remember shoving my mountain bike in there no problem.
But if you’re all about the drive the MX-5 is such a blast. I ve taken it on weekend trips and it just feels alive on the road. But in winter nah no thanks.
I lived in San Francisco for a while and drove a Mazda MX-5 daily. The twisty roads were pure joy but grocery runs? That was kinda a struggle.
Then I switched to a Honda CR-V and wow what a difference. Roomy comfy and handles city driving like a champ.
For everyday stuff CR-V takes the crown for me.
I drove a Mazda MX-5 for a summer in California. Fun little car but not exactly practical for daily stuff.
Honda CR-V on the other hand is super comfy. I ve taken mine on road trips and it’s got space for everything.
If driving’s more about comfort than fun I’d stick with the CR-V for sure.
I’ve driven both in Virginia and let me tell you it’s a wild ride. The MX-5 is like a go-kart zipping through the winding roads it’s fun but kinda impractical for everyday stuff.
On the other hand the CR-V feels like a sofa on wheels lots of space and comfort but you won’t be winning any races.
If I had to choose for daily driving I’d stick with the CR-V. Just makes more sense.
