Is a honda civic pre owned worth the investment long-term?

so I’ve been thinking about getting a pre-owned Honda Civic. heard they last a super long time, like the energizer bunny or something. my buddy’s had one for over 10 years, and he says it still runs like new.

But I wonder if it’s really worth it. I mean, what if it’s one of those cars that looks cool but dies on you after a year? my last car was a clunker, and I don’t wanna go thru that again.

And they say Civics have good gas mileage. is that true? I spend way too much on gas already.

so if you guys have any stories—good, bad, or ugly—let me know. I need to know if I’m making a smart choice or just falling for shiny ads.
