Is a 2015 f150 front end clunk normal after cv axle replacement?

so recently i replaced the cv axle on my 2015 f150, right after it sounded smooth as butter, but then i started hearing this clunking noise from the front end. like, what the heck right? i thought i did everything right. it kinda sounds like a little gremlin under there every time i go over bumps.

i mean it’s been a few weeks since the swap, but is this normal? i remember when i changed the brake pads on my old truck, it took a while for everything to settle in. but this sounds like a bad dance party in the front end. anybody else had this?

also, did i maybe do something wrong? or am i just overthinking it like always? i just want my truck to sound like a truck and not like it’s auditioning for a horror movie.

I ve had my 2015 F150 in Seattle and after I changed the CV axle it started clunking too. Thought it was just me going crazy or somethin but turns out it’s kind of common. Maybe it’s just the way those axles settle in or something.

I had a friend who went through the same thing and said it eventually quieted down so fingers crossed right. Just gotta keep an ear out for anything wild.

It drove me nuts for a while

Turned out it was just a loose bolt

So I guess its kinda normal as long as you check it out

Ive had a 2015 F150 and after replacing the CV axle it clunked a bit too here in Ohio. I thought it was normal at first but it felt odd. My buddy said it could be the differential but who knows. Just keep an ear out for it.

I ve had a 2015 F150 in Texas and after replacing the cv axle it started clunking too. It drove me crazy thought maybe I missed something during the install. I found out its somewhat normal but still annoying. Just part of owning these beasts I guess.

I had a 2015 F150 too in Texas and after replacing the CV axle I noticed a clunk as well. Took it to my mechanic and he said it can happen sometimes with aftermarket parts.

Kinda freaked me out at first but then I thought maybe its just part of the process. Never had issues after that so who knows. Just keep an ear out and don’t overthink it I guess.

I ve got a 2015 F150 and after replacing my cv axle I noticed a clunk too. It was weird driving around Vancouver and hearing that sound especially after spending so much to fix it. My buddy said it might be normal but it drives me nuts. I’ve read some forums where folks had it too so maybe its just a thing with these trucks.

ended up being just some settling I think cause after a few hundred miles it chilled out

so don’t stress too much could just need some time to adjust

I ve had a 2015 F150 too and after replacing the cv axles I experienced a clunking sound as well. It was around the time I was driving through Minnesota in the winter.

What I found odd was how it only clunked when turning. Ended up being a loose bolt. Hopefully yours is something simple like that too.

I ve got a 2015 F150 too and after I swapped my cv axle I noticed a clunk as well it was weird but the mechanic told me it might just be adjusting to the new part It’s kinda reassuring to know I’m not alone in this.

I’ve noticed a little clunk after I did my cv axle on my 2016 f150 in Michigan too guess its kinda common

might just be things settling or something but it’s annoying

my friend had the same issue no big deal really
