How does mazda mx 5 vs honda crv compare in terms of reliability?

so a few years back, I had a mazda mx-5. loved that little thing, felt like a go-kart on the road. But after a year, I started to wonder if it was going to fall apart on every pothole. like, my buddy’s honda crv just seemed to run forever with barely any issues.

so, I asked him what’s the secret, and he said something about how all he does is change the oil once in a while. I mean, come on, how can a car be so reliable with so little effort? But my mx-5? I was always checking the oil levels and worrying about every little sound.

i think the crv is like that friend who always shows up on time, while the mx-5 is more like the friend who shows up late but brings pizza. do you guys think i’m comparing apples to oranges here or what?

ive always thought the mx-5 was a fun little car but my buddy’s crv always runs without issues in the snow here in Canada. so it’s gotta be super reliable right?

I have a friend who had a Mazda MX-5 in Ontario and loved the handling but always complained about little electrical issues. Meanwhile my sister’s Honda CR-V has been running like a champ down in Florida for years with hardly a hiccup. So reliability looks better on CR-V side for sure. Just my two cents.

I once owned a Mazda MX-5 in California and it was super fun but not the most reliable.

My cousin’s Honda CR-V has been running strong for years in Canada.

I ve had my Mazda MX-5 for five years now and it just keeps running without a hitch really. But my friend drives a Honda CR-V and swears by its reliability too so it’s a toss up honestly.

ive had a Mazda MX-5 for a couple of years now and honestly never had major issues with it drives like a dream.

My buddy down the road has a Honda CR-V and swears by its reliability but I think it’s more about how you treat the car.

I ve always loved my Mazda MX-5 but heard folks say Hondas just won’t quit. In Canada my buddy had a CR-V that ran forever. It’s like the MX-5 is a spirited weekend ride while the CR-V just keeps going and going.

Had a Mazda MX-5 once in Michigan and that little car was a blast but had a couple hiccups. Heard my buddy’s CRV in Canada ran for years with barely a scratch.

I ve noticed the MX-5 leans towards fun but the CRV seems like the reliable family wagon you can trust for years.

Kinda a trade off depending on what you want.

I ve had my Mazda MX-5 for years in Canada and it’s been super fun to drive.

My friends swear by their Honda CR-Vs tho reliable but kind of boring in comparison.

I ve seen my friend’s MX-5 in Canada barely needing anything after years while my CR-V had all sorts of gremlins pop up. kinda wild. different vibes for sure.

I had a Mazda MX-5 back in Canada and it was a blast to drive but I was always worried about long-term reliability. It felt like it needed more attention than my buddy’s Honda CR-V which just kept going without any fuss.

Different vibes for sure but I ve heard that CR-Vs are more dependable overall.

Ive driven both and the mx 5 is fun but the crv just won’t quit reliability wise

Had my crv for years no major issues its like a trusty old friend

Had a buddy with an MX-5 in California I ve seen him have some fun but he spent a lot on repairs

CR-V I think is super reliable though

I’ve heard mixed things about both these cars.

My friend in Canada loves his MX-5 but always worries about winter reliability.

The CR-V seems to last forever though.

I’ve had my MX-5 for a few years now and I love the drive but reliability is a bit of a toss-up.

My buddy’s CR-V has been rock solid in all weather up here in Canada.

I ve had both a Mazda MX-5 and a Honda CR-V here in Canada. The Mazda was fun to drive but had some quirky reliability issues after a few years. The CR-V has just kept chugging along that’s for sure. Pretty different rides honestly but both have their charms.

I’ve had both the Mazda MX-5 and Honda CR-V living in Toronto and honestly they’re worlds apart. The MX-5 is flashy fun but I’ve had some weird electrical issues. Meanwhile my CR-V just keeps going even after years. It feels like a tank.

Reliability wise I’d put my money on the CR-V every time.

I ve had my Mazda MX-5 for years and its been solid but I also know friends with CR-Vs and they just keep running without issues. Both are different beasts though. Weather here in Canada definitely tests them.

I ve had my Mazda MX-5 for about three years now and it’s been super fun to drive but I wonder about long-term reliability compared to the Honda CR-V. My neighbor has a CR-V and swears by it always getting him through Canadian winters without a hitch. I feel like the MX-5 might be more about the experience than the daily grind though. Different vibes for sure.

I’ve got a Mazda MX-5 and it’s like a little rocket just waiting to zoom. I can’t say much about the Honda CR-V because my buddy has one and it’s comfy but a bit of a tank reliability wise I’d say the MX-5 wins in the fun department though.
