How does Honda CRV ground clearance compare to similar SUVs?

so, last summer I took my CRV on a road trip to the mountains. And I was kinda worried about the ground clearance. I mean, it’s not like I was planning on scaling Everest or anything, but you know, those bumpy roads can be tricky. Anyway, I realized it has like 7.8 inches of clearance, which is decent for an SUV.

I compared it to some other rides, like the RAV4 and the Escape. Both have similar clearance, right? But still, I felt like my CRV handled the rocky stuff better. Maybe it’s just me, but it felt super stable.

But then again, you gotta consider the cargo space too, which is huge in the CRV. So, do you guys think ground clearance is the most important thing? Or is it just another thing to brag about?

I ve driven a CRV through some rugged trails in the Rockies honestly its ground clearance felt decent but I noticed a couple RAV4s with more height

I ve driven my CRV in the Rockies and the ground clearance made a difference. Comparable to others like the RAV4 but feels lower. More stability on tough trails tho.

Love the space inside but for off-roading not the best.

Compared to the RAV4 it feels a bit lower but still handles well over rocks and bumps.

I’ve seen others struggle with clearance on tighter trails but my Honda did alright.

For city driving it’s perfect but I think for serious off-roading I’d want more height.

I’ve driven a CRV for years and love it but the ground clearance sometimes worries me. Living in the northeast means dealing with snow and rough roads. When I compare it to other SUVs like the RAV4 or the Escape I feel like the CRV is a bit lower.

Its handling is great but for off-road stuff I wish it was a tad higher.

I’ve driven a Honda CR-V through a few snowstorms in Connecticut and it handled pretty well. The ground clearance seemed decent compared to some other small SUVs.

I remember parking next to a RAV4 and realizing they were almost the same height. Definitely feels like it can tackle some rougher terrain without issues.

I’ve driven a Honda CRV for a couple years in the snowy winters of Canada and I’ve gotta say the ground clearance is decent. It sits higher than many compact SUVs but not as high as something more rugged.

For city driving it’s perfect but when I hit the trails with friends I sometimes wish it had a bit more lift. My buddy’s RAV4 does seem to tackle rougher stuff better.
