How does an 88 f150 3 inch leveling kit affect ride quality?

so, I remember when I slapped that 3-inch leveling kit on my 88 F150. thought I was gonna be the king of the road, ya know? but honestly, it’s a mixed bag. like, yeah, it looked super aggressive and badass, but the ride quality kinda took a hit.

And I started feeling every little bump like it was a monster truck show. I used to glide over potholes, but now it’s like my back’s a personal trampoline. But, it’s not all bad. The extra clearance means I can go off-road without worrying about scraping the underside.

Has anyone else felt this change? or is it just my old bones complainin?

I’ve had my 88 F150 with that 3 inch leveling kit and honestly it feels a bit stiffer over bumps but looks way better in my opinion. My buddy says he loves his too in Texas.

I ve got an 88 F150 and added a 3 inch leveling kit last summer in Michigan. Ride feels stiffer on the streets but off-road it’s like floating on clouds. Weird trade-off.

I have to say it kinda helps with the look way more aggressive now.

I ve noticed it feels a bit bouncier on the potholes but still manageable.

Overall I’d say worth it but keep your expectations realistic.

I’ve got an '88 F150 too and when I put on that 3 inch leveling kit it totally changed the game. I never really thought how much a simple lift could make the ride feel stiffer but it did. Not exactly what I wanted since I was hoping for a smoother ride.

But man the look is killer now. Just cruising around up here in the Pacific Northwest looks great with those bigger tires. It’s a trade off for sure.

i had a leveling kit on my 88 f150 and honestly it rides a bit rougher but looks way cooler driving around town in Utah.

also noticed it felt more stable off road but my back did complain sometimes on longer trips

I’ve got an 88 F150 with a 3 inch leveling kit here in Ohio. It kinda changed the game for me. Ride feels a bit stiffer but it takes bumps way better now. Sometimes I miss the old squishiness though. It sits higher and looks great but it does make parking a little more challenging. Definitely worth it for the look.

had an 88 f150 with a leveling kit in Texas and honestly it stiffened up the ride a bit but it looked awesome so I guess it kind of balances out you definitely feel the bumps more but the stance is worth it for me I’ve loved it

Ive got an 88 F150 in the Midwest and that 3 inch leveling kit felt great on the backroads but a bit bouncy on the smooth ones.

Seems like a trade off for that look though.

But off-road it’s like a beast now. Makes me feel like I’m cruising through whatever comes my way.

I ve got an 88 F150 and threw a 3 inch leveling kit on for some highway cruising in Texas. it was fun at first but I noticed the ride got kinda rough especially over bumps. I mean yeah it gives that mean look but my back definitely feels it after a long drive. I guess it’s a trade off for the style huh? Guess that’s what I get for chasing that off-road vibe.

but looked awesome and handled better on the highway

totally worth it if your into the looks

I ve got an 88 F150 too and slapped on a 3 inch leveling kit a while back. At first I was like this is great more clearance and it looks tough. But after a few weeks the ride got kinda rough like my spine was getting a workout. Off-roading is better though just bumpy on the roads.

I’ve got an 88 F150 myself and recently threw on a 3 inch leveling kit. initially I was kinda nervous about ride quality but honestly it’s not that bad. feels a bit stiffer than before but in a good way like more control maybe.

driving around here in Colorado through these mountain roads its holding up well just gotta watch those potholes though you know. overall I’m happy with it.
